A letter comes to the inn of Isinhold, designated for a certain Liadan Amaethal, all the way from Silverymoon. The letter itself must have been written some time ago.
Dear Lady Liadan,
I have just arrived home in Silverymoon, and am pleased to say that all is well. It appears that what my mother meant to tell me in her last letter to me was that my father had been waylaid by an Orc war party on one of his hunting trips along with my brother. My father fought off as many as he could with his bow while he rode on horseback, but he had been struck by two Orcish arrows simultaneously in the heat of the conflict. My brother fled from the Orcs with my injured father back to Silverymoon where he survived his injuries. He is still weakened from the conflict but he is rapidly getting better thanks to the magics of our home.
I feel silly, having rushed all the way back home for that. The voyage took me the better half of a month, with little time for rest along the way. In the end, all is well. My whole family was quite glad to see me back at the estate, and I have not seen them in many months. I hope you did not worry too much. I will spending a few days here to make up for lost time, though my brother has unfortunately got it into his head to drag me to all these parties in an effort to remind me of what home was like before I heeded Tyr's call. As such, he has taken just as much interest in my wear as you have.
But I prattle needlessly. The sad truth of the matter is that by the time this letter reaches you, I'll be but a day or two away from arriving back in Cormyr. I sincerely hope all is well with you, and Marn as well. Though the two of you seemed to have a bit of a spat before I left, I have still prayed every day that he survives his wounds. I hope that when I return you and he will be in the best of health and spirits.
Wishing you well,
Yven Fenrir
PS: I sincerely hope you did not have to put that scroll to use.
