Hmmm.. not getting xp for all that hard fought Rping? Don't worry, I know for a fact that it all pays off in the end. I myself can attest to rping in the past with cetain individuals who went on to become DM's and came back and rewarded me for it (or at least tried to but I backed out cause I didn't want anyone to think they were playing favorites). I mean just like in real life not everything you do will reap results immediately. As human beings I know we are all in favor of instant gratification, but think about it this way; the times you have received Roleplay xp, the roleplaying you were involved in didn't just start 5 minutes before right? It was a culmination of days/weeks/months of RPing with the other players to get to the point where you have felt them out and can comfortably Roleplay around them and know they will support the idea/action/whatever you are trying to express. So a DM sees you doing this refined acting/roleplaying and rewards you for it. Your being rewarded not only for that humorous line the Dm saw or that trully in-character remark that was reason for the reward but for all the RPing that led up to it that was unseen. RPing rewards are generally pretty darn good here (well at least in comparison to killin kobolds for hours at a time) and thats because the Dms are bright enough to realize what they are trully rewarding you for. Just my humble opinion. Disregard at your leisure. Sean

i was sitting by the fire in isinhold talking about my views on life with rav and a person i'd just met ic. then a bunch of other people show up, like usual. pretty soon someone's making suggestions like "let's go show those zhents" and eventutually a group leaves town. before they go, they ask anyone if they'd like to come along. jargo, rav and the third person (sorry can't remember your name ) all decline. we just wanted to kick back and relax a bit. we continue our deep discussion about our views on life, meanwhile knowing the others are cleaving through zhent after zhent. right about that time we got a nice RP bonus, and i kinda figured there was a DM who enjoyed seeing us stay in isinhold and RP in spite of an oportunity to go cleave zhents for XP.

What is the point of this discourse?
I think we all realize player count is down. If you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the problem though.
Perhaps other than ranting along about how terrible it is that no one is on at the moment, either take a break or live with it...
I am working very hard to decrease the lag that seems to be keeping people away. You need to do your part as a player and keep others there when they arrive. Say hello, make fellow players feel welcome...Or don't, but please don't add fuel to the fire.
I guess I am the kind of RP'er that could have fun with a paper bag and some string, and I realize we all aren't built the same way. I do encourage you to please stop ranting about it on the forums... it really doesn't do any good.
Thanks.

Sorry Justicar, I wasn't tryin to rant about there not being anybody on the module to RP with, I was trying to draw the people who were on the forum over to the server. There was 7 people not including myself on the forum last night at one particular time and 4 different people on the server at that same time. I was trying to draw people over by letting them know there are people who are on the server who were looking to RP not go adventuring. I didn't mean to offend or anger, but to intice and persuade. I understand people are busy I was trying to do my part to draw them to get them to log in and once they're there then its easy to keep em cause the RP is always high enough quality on FRC to lock em in. So if upset or frustrated anyone, I do apologize it was not meant that way. Sean

I also didn't want to come off like I was "counter-ranting" but I do think I have finally hit pay-dirt when it comes to lag reduction. I am pretty sure we will see dramatic improvement this week, and would just like everyone to hang in there until then.
I really appreciate all of you players who are sticking it out, and I know we are back on the road to normalcy.
Cheers!
