OOC: Hello guys I wrote this on my return flight back to newbrunswick canada from my home, where I was staying for the past few weeks. it was rather early about 5 am and I was rather tired, so feel free to point any misteaks or salads on this one...
*chuckles*
here it is..
Entori quickly looked around the room of the Regal Griffon Inn, Liaden and Aria, talked in a corner, and Aledius sat in front of the fire, on a pillow, gripping a journal which he was calmly writing in. Maxwell had gone to see the Temple of Torm in Suzial the day before, to find out what to do with our portal, but just in case, Entori had spent the night preparing spells to bind the gate, if temporarily, if Maxwell couldn’t return in time. He came forward and sat at the table, the two women were sat at, when meri appeared. “So Entori.” She commented in Elven “If I speak in your language will you give me the secrets to brewing your potions.” Entori looked down, half in awe and smirked. “It will take much more than my native Tongue, to give you such secrets, power is earned not given. That is the way of Mystra” He replied calmly. She continued to provoke the answer out of him, with threats of tickling, and persuasion of cookies.. when eventually Maxwell Walked in. “Maxwell what say the preists?” Entori asked as Liaden and the others walked up. Maxwell looked up with dark purposeful eyes “ they say we must find a warwizard, a powerful warwizard, to seal the gate, perhaps an archmage, I cam Entori to see if you wished to go to the college in Suzial as you know a few faces there.”
Entori Frowned.. “Nay friend, the Council of Wizards are in Suzial, Espar is but a training ground. It will take too long for you to rally the wizards to here, sure the gate was dormant when we left, but maybe it is bringing something big and powerful into this realm, I must close it.”
“Entori… your talking about stoping a God here.” Liaden Blurted out. “You have your powers, but you are not a *GOD* by any means.” She snapped “How do you purpose to do this.” Entori was quick to snap back “The preists are the ones who summoned the gate, they were mortal, plus I go alone, you all go to suzial with haste, get the warwizards and come quickly. The most powerful I know is in the courtyard, the last I see he was looking for a missing mage friend of his.” And with that he put on his cloak grabbed his cross bow, and turned away and walked out of the Regal. Aledius quickly caught up, “Your not going alone…” he said “oh?” Ent replied, “You’ve gotten a second chance I will not ask you to go…” , Aledius snapped “I’ve seen the hells, I’m coming” .. Entori didn’t say anything after that just nodded and set a quick pace, to do the good of cormyr.

They had been in the cave only a moment and more ‘fuzzies’ as Aledius called them appeared. A bit of sword play and it was finished, Entori was orderd to save his strength.. well magical strength. Finally after many more fuzzies.. they came to the room, and Entori hurried to get a spell of binding off, to temporarily seal the gate. Aledius banged on the floor a few times, and then cursed at cyric.. nothing.
Entori on the other hand saw different. His spell was holding but fading fast.. he might have a day at best. “Aledius, I am going to need to cast more spells, to seal it for longer, and I will need to put all of my will into one casting it will drain me and weaken me. Can you guard while I prepare?” there was a nod, and Entori sat down and prayed. He prayed to Mystra to allow him to focus his will, the Goddess of magic never granted prayer, she wasn’t that type of goddess, you earned Mystra’s power through the weave, and if she deemed you worthy to wield her true power, you were chosen. But very few, could contain that power. But Entor found it focusing, as he reached out to the weave a bit to steady his mind, as the power edge on his being. Then he studied, studied harder and longer than ever before, one learning as many bindings as he could, and then he stopped, his body need rest and he knew it. Aledius saw him rise, and said “religious?” Entori nodded and replied “When it suits me.. I must rest I trust you can handle things” there was a nod. And he unrolled a bead roll and entered reverie. His rest was short but sufficient. Than he began his ritual, making a star on the portal with random spell components he thought to increase his power, faire dust, a skull of a gargoyle, and a slaad’s tongue. And then he went to the side, and opened himself to Mystras Art, her gift to man, she was magic, and she controlled all magic. HE opened himself to the weave in full, letting the magic rip through his body like a wolf to a sheep. Adelius just held his breathe as Entori began to sweat and glow, and chant. It was visible that the magic was burning the elf out, he was turning in colors, and the room tingled.. Entori began to cast his spells of binding, the only ones he knew, and the magic ripped out of his hands, in an almost explosion of color as his hands made the symbols that would bind the gate.. then he collapsed. The magic finished and he himself, spent, his body hurt all over, and he was exhausted. He still had spells in his mind, but felt as if he couldn’t move.
After a moment, Adelius picked him up and lent him on his staff, and attacked the various owlbears that had arrived with the ruckus. Then the two souls made there way out, Entori hobbling and trying to steady himself, dizzy and confounded, but it would hold for at least a month.
As they exited, they were met with some heavyily armored adventurers, weapons and armor shining with magic. “Who are you they” said, “and what have you summoned in here?” Adelius let Entori lean against the cave entrance, or rather lent him against the cave before he fell, and relate the story. It was then that they learned that there was a archdemon and balor summoned in Isinhold. Entori fell, hard… In shock that he was too late, or his spells had failed. Then more adventurers appeared, some Entori knew some he never, and all piled into the cave ready to fight the evil within, well entori walked to the road, when he caught a glimpse of Liaden beyond some trees and he stumbled off as fast as his body would move, and Adelius walked slowly beside him. “Liaden!” he called half gasping “Where is the wizrd? I must tell him what I have done.” Entori managed to get out.
She shook her head, and said “Isinhold was attacked, are you ok? What happened?” Then the big burly paladin Maxwell said, “look adventurers in the cave, we must show them where the portal was.” The party leaded off to join them, leaving Entori to sit.
Some time passes, and Entori gets up, “I should join them before I get left to some bandit, or wolf.” And Entered the cave again. Hobbling along.. then just prior to the entrance to the cavern that would lead to the gate, her heard it the growl.. and the slopping sounds.. from behind him. Well he knew what was there, and he don’t know how he managed to cast the spell, but he pulled a handful of minature arrows from his cloak and went through the motions of the spell, within a moment everything in the room had a magically burning arrow in it and everything was dead.. minus Entori. Then he entered the cavern , where Maxwell and the others were repeating his tale to others. As many were suspious, of him. Finally someone said that isinhold was left in the guards hands, and everyone hurried back to the town to defend it.
Adelius and Maxwell, practically lifted the now very pale, very sick, and very sore Entori back to town, and sat him by the river, where they sat a day ago.. Entori looked up and said “I hope it worked, I hope it will hold” They both looked at him and said, it will, and I am sure you will go see a warwizard to make sure. As well, as you said yesterday, we were having.. one of those days… Take it easy and call us if you need anything..
And so ends the small tale of the portal of cyric, and how Entori be’te’wa and others did what they good for the cormyr.
