Heavy, steady footsteps echo in the dark halls of Retribution. The faint red glow prevalent in the temple baths the approaching man in an eerie light, making him almost a black shadow against red mist in the eyes of the beholder. Flickering shadows cast by moving acolytes further the unsettling effect, making the bloodred crow's dripping wings seem to flap upon his heavy tabard. The man stops before the Bringer of Thunderous Revenge, slapping his fist against his heart in an abrupt, quick motion, then lowering his head once, before staring into the priest's eyes, his own bloodshot, lines of age and weariness creasing his face where it is not covered by the silvery grey beard which almost seems to glisten with blood in the lighting. His voice is cold and clear, bare of any emotion but a faint bestial rasp, almost a growl by the end of his plea to the priest:
Honour to the Lord of three Thunder. I am Kane the Fallen and wish to invoke the rite of judgement against one Tanya Steel, also known as Marishka Sevraal, who has agreed to meet my challenge in these halls. May the gods grant just retribution.
//what Duk means with rite of judgement is basically this:
He wishes to use the temple arena to challenge Tanya to mortal combat with Hoar's favoured weapon, namely javelins. I imagine that it is said of the rite that the overseeing god would grant victory to the one in the right, causing the first, and thus obviously divine favoured blow to be instantly fatal. Realistically speaking, the tips of the javelins likely coated in lethal venom. If the player(Emerald Snow) agrees, I'd like to avoid the NWN mechanic and RP the duel out with the stipulation that first successful strike kills. Swift and fitting, final judgement are, after all, Hoar's trademark. This is of course only a suggestion, but I think it adds an interesting twist
