Rigrin walks into the Leering Lecher in Marsember and approaches the barkeep...
"Hi, mister Edwin. I spoke with some people a few months ago, and they said there were plans to put a Soul's Harvest costume party together here this year, like there was last... but, I haven't heard anything about it since... what would you think of holding a small one here? I heard some people had made costumes, but then didn't have anywhere to wear them."
// As anyone who played on FRC around this time of year last October remembers, DM Batty/MaO had organized a great big costume party as an introduction for the Leering Lecher, with a month long build up to it with hints dropped about it and so on, with Halloween decorations all over the server for most of October.
Soul's Harvest, a non-source-canon holiday, basically the Faerunian equivelent of our Halloween, was dreamed up by the DM team as an excuse for the party, but it seems that the post detailing it has since been deleted, or else I just can't find it.
But, since then, MaO has resigned from DMing, and no one else has tried to organize a similar event. Personally, I had a good time at the first one, and was looking forward to another this year... so had a few others, apparently, as evidenced by jensmann's post in his gallery of Isendir's costume.
It probably would have been much better if it were planned out far in advance like the first, and we'd probably run out of things to do pretty quickly as a result of that lack of planning, but would there be any interest in just meeting up in costume and having a belated Soul's Harvest party, say, tommorow night, or a week from now, or whenever would be most convenient for the most people interested?
Either way, happy Halloween, and happy Soul's Harvest.
