The Roll of Years Continues!
In 2024 FRC advances to 1388 Dalereckoning, the Year of the Tanarukka
The Forgotten Realms Calendar has 12 months which correspond to the Real World Gregorian Calendar months.
January - Hammer
February - Alturiak
March - Ches
April - Tarsakh
May - Mirtul
June - Kythorn
July - Flamerule
August - Eleasis
September - Eleint
October - Marpenoth
November - Uktar
December - Nightal
Therefore, our January 1, 2024 corresponds to Hammer 1, 1388 in the Forgotten Realms on FRC.
Each day in the real world corresponds to a day in the Forgotten Realms calendar. All 12 months in the Forgotten Realms Calendar have 30 days and the year has five additional days as holidays, so we have some adjustments to reconcile the two calendars.
January 31st does not fall in Hammer or Alturiak. Instead, the day serves as a holiday called Midwinter, falling between Hammer 30th and Alturiak 1st.
February 28th on a non-Leap Year corresponds to Alturiak 28th, Alturiak 29th, and Alturiak 30th.
February 29th on a Leap Year corresponds to both Alturiak 29th and Alturiak 30th.
March 30th and March 31st both correspond to Ches 30th.
April 31st does not exist in our Calendar, but in the Forgotten Realms there is a day between Tarsakh 30th and Mirtul 1st that serves as a holiday called Greengrass.
May 30th and May 31st both correspond to Mirtul 30th.
July 31st does not fall in Flamerule or Eleasis. Instead, the day serves as a holiday called Midsummer, falling between Flamerule 30th and Eleasis 1st.
July 32nd does not exist in our Calendar but every four years in the Forgotten Realms, corresponding with our Leap Year, there is a second day falling between Flamerule 30th and Eleasis 1st that serves as a holiday called Shieldmeet.
August 30th and August 31st both correspond to Eleasis 30th.
September 31st does not exist in our Calendar, but in the Forgotten Realms there is a day between Eleint 30th and Marpenoth 1st that serves as a holiday called Highharvestide.
October 31st does not fall in Marpenoth or Uktar. Instead, the day serves as a holiday called Soul's Harvest, falling between Marpenoth 30th and Uktar 1st.
November 31st does not exist in our Calendar, but in the Forgotten Realms there is a day between Uktar 30th and Nightal 1st that serves as a holiday called the Feast of the Moon.
December 30th and 31st both correspond to Nightal 30th.
Additional holidays in the Forgotten Realms Calendar on FRC include:
Spring Equinox on Ches 19th
Summer Solstice on Kythorn 20th
Autumn Equinox and Fallrite on Eleint 21st
Winter Solstice, Yeartide, and Simril on Nightal 20th
Please note: In game, holidays should be expected to fall on the days described above unless a holiday event is scheduled on another day. The date of a scheduled holiday event takes precedence in the moment but should approximate the Forgotten Realms calendar.
