Lately the villagers are much more closed mouthed, speaking to each other quietly, and away from the typical adventurers.
Though some whispers can be overheard, of the brutality against Valina, of the fire in the Bramblewood, and of Bentin going around looking much more closely at those strangers to the village who gather in large numbers.....

Rumor quickly spreads that the suite room in the upstairs of the Regal Griffon Inn was found covered in blood, with no signs of who was involved, beyond a single Raven feather in the mess of blood.

The following note is tacked above the bar in the Regal Griffon, and on the "jobs board" in the town square:
Greetings Adventurers of Greatgaunt!
Recently, new exciting information has begun to come from the older parts of the dungeons here in Greatgaunt. As it has been a personal hobby of mine to discover the history of this town dating from the time of the first elven settlement here, I am asking that if anyone should find unique or interesting artifacts that may relate to that time period, if they would bring them to me, for fair compensation for your trouble.
I can be found in my shop most days.
Thank you!
Giselle, Giselle's Antiquities
//DM Note: See DM timetable for most likely times this will be occuring.

Rumor has it... A trail of freshly baked pies, led a Famous local Hinnish Extortionist to a Fiery Dhoom... Faces where blackened, hairy feet were singed, but no pies were hurt during the course of this explosive incident...

Cathea slowly walks around the town asking questions to determine if the evidence was properly devoured and if not, how she can get in on the action.

*A sudden heavy wind was felt in Great Gaunt last evening blowing in seemingly from the Bramblewood itself. The creaking of trees played a chorus to small dust devils that formed and danced within the town itself .... even giving Bentin a reason to pause to get sand out of his eyes ...
..the maelstrom of air sustained itself for a mere five minutes and died as suddenly as it came upon the small town ....
... leaving a calm silence ... *

Rumors have it there is an elf woman all attired in plate mail and a white cloak trimmed in light blue asking around in Greatgaunt about skilled enchanters in the local area. She seems to have taken up temporary residence in the Regal Griffon Inn, having prepaid the innkeeper for a single room for a full tenday. Some local patrons at the bar have heard her introduce herself as some sort of "fey soaress," and have been watching carefully to see if or when she'll be sprouting wings.
(Those who speak elven might realize that the drunkards are mangling the pronunciation for a priestess of Corellon.)

*A female hoodie adventurer is seen walking several times toward the catacombs, returning from there with a cloth sack, filled with old art objects, books, and other low-value money purses, and shipped to Waterdeep, whose shipping value and security is much more expensive than the monetary value of objects. *Randomly, in areas around the region, it is possible to hear the rumor of a girl wearing a lion mask, killing undead and hunting orcs, fighting gnolls and even kicking goblins away, using a rapier or arrows... *...Which coincidentally, is similar to a heroine drawed by an young small girl of the region, who was a victim of bullying of other older boys, who made fun of her, claiming that there is no "Leona the heroine" in that region and her drawing is really ugly... *...And a character of children's stories, the little red cape, is sometimes seen in the region randomly, removing traps set by bandits to catch up with unapologetic travelers. * Bentin (the guard of the greatgraunt guard) take some time off... And a bald man named Carl replaced him temporarily...
* ...And by coincidence, the shield-looking-door and "toc toc toc" jokes that were made near the Bentin every time were over. For now.

A wounded woman wearing a lion's head helmet is seen hunting orcs and goblins in the forests and caves in the region around Greatgaunt, alone... Using a foil and a main gauche. This scene has been repeated frequently in the last few days

Lately, a red-haired woman clad in blue plate armor named Nelmyria can be seen within and outside of Greatgaunt, performing various goodly deeds. Those familiar with Impiltur would recognize that the blue and silver of her outfit closely resembles that of the Impiltur Council, though she does not mention being a part of said council. Her blue cloak as the symbol of Torm on the back. She carries a great deal of curiosity for her surroundings and people she meets.

An odd site befell Greatgaunt in the late hours of an recent evening. Two kenku, a race of avian humanoids from the far southern reaches of Faerun passed through the small town of Greatgaunt to collect supplies for their flock. Rumors abound to their purpose here, from some esoteric god seeking Sky Rocks to this flock being a host of roaming thieves.
