Hey, I wanted to thank you all for a wonderful week. As some of you I have met know, I am very new to neverwinter. I’ve been a role-player for a very long time and I’ve played more than my share of table top and Muds. (Video games in general)
The first time I tried to play in FRC it was as a gnomish Bard, Wyn- I know at least 1 person who remembers her. I didn’t play her for long however. Things just didn’t seem to click. I gave the game back up for other distractions.
But as with most things, I give them more than just one try. I am glad that I decided to give FRC another chance. This past week has been a lot of fun. This game has stolen me away from WoW.
I suppose I just wanted to give fair warning though- like I said- I’m a complete newb when it comes to Neverwinter. I struggled with learning how to cast spells properly all this week. I just recently learned how to adjust my armor to fit my character concept. I can role-play with the best of them (of this I am fairly confidant) but when it comes to game mechanics I’m still a bit lost. It took me about an hour to figure out what I was doing wrong when I was trying to summon a badger.
In short- I got a lot of game mechanics to learn- not only game mechanics but campaign lore. Just the other day I think I was asked 3 three questions my character should have known about but I personally did not. It makes my poor little Lore Cleric look as if she has never studied anything more than children’s stories. So I ask kindly that you all bare with my ignorance. When my character pauses when you ask an obvious lore question- one most people know of- it’s because her controller hasn’t learned that stuff yet. If you spend your entire youth working in the libraries of Oghma you’re bound to learn more than what I know about campaign stuff. So- if it is obvious- help me out with the lore. I could use the learning time. I know she isn’t an expert by any means, but she isn’t as clueless as I make her out to be.
Thanks for the great week, I look forward to many more great weeks. Thanks for making the second try so entertaining and worth it.
