Here's the portrait of Kira, I made by editing a stock photo. www.savefile.com/files/1883169Excuse the ads, it was a free download site I found quickly. To link directly to the .zip file, skipping all the adds, click here.

Does anyone else have trouble viewing the main custom portraits download's page? All I see is a search thingy at the top, ads, and a background. Viewing the source shows all kinds of wonderful information, including the link to the .rar file, but I can't actually see any body on the page itself.

All this talk of trans-gender role playing made me remember... I dont think I ever posted my new portrait of Abby here. I could be wrong, but anyway, here it is. This one nailed her IMO. This is exactly how I picture her. Manshin

I notice she has a little Easterner thing going on with her eyes.
A trend with your characters, Manshin?
Great art! I'm still stealing mine (with appropriate credit given!) from professionals. /blush

Abby is Damaran in decent, so I suppose you could say its more of an "itallian" look than an asian one. Or at least, that was the intention. This portrait was inspired by a revival in interest I had while playing in Thesk, which is crawling in Shou-men... so, perhaps all those filthy mongral Tuigan rubbed off on her.

I pray to god you don't mean that in the colloquial.
What has the internet done to my brain?

I don't know if someone answered this already in the 19 pages of posts before this, but I downloaded the CEP pack I can get new portraits and character appearances if I go into the test modules, but I can't use the portraits or new appearances anywhere else. How do I get these items to carry over into the rest of my NWN gaming experience like they are supposed to?

You need to create a folder under the NWN folder and then copy portrait files in that folder.

You need to create a folder under the NWN folder and then copy portrait files in that folder. That's a great start. But I really am new to this, and I have no idea where to look for the portraits from the CEP update, what to name the new folder (if it matters), or anything. (I'm assuming it's all on the C drive on my computer. ) Uh ... how do I even get started?

I've a custom picture for my character Laura Senthen, but I have no idea how to knock it down to size for the portrait. I attached it, if someone can help with it. Attachments:

But I really am new to this, and I have no idea where to look for the portraits from the CEP update, what to name the new folder (if it matters), or anything. (I'm assuming it's all on the C drive on my computer. ) Uh ... how do I even get started? Step by step for you (and if it seems infantile in some parts, I'm just making sure you don't miss anything): 1. Make a new folder and name it "portraits" (do not include quotation marks in any of the places that I have used in this explanation. You probably already knew that). 2. Put the new folder in your "NWN" folder found in the "NeverwinterNights" folder on your C:drive. 3. Now all unzipped (or what have you) portraits go into this new "portraits" folder. If you don't have WinZip, you can download it for free through Google. 4. Make a separate folder and leave it on your desktop. Name it something like "NWN misc" or something that you'll remember. This is what I use to download all portaits and overrides to before unzipping them. It's basically nothing more than a stash folder that you'll be using later. Feel free to delete or empty it after all the steps below are completed. I suggest keeping it but it is not necessary. 5. After downloading portraits and what not, go to the "NWN misc" folder and double click the file. If it is a .zip file, WinZip will pop up. Use evaluation version and then click "extract". Find and select the "portraits" folder in your "NWN" folder. Hit extract again and you are done. Rinse and repeat for any others you have downloaded. Quick reminders: the "portraits" folder MUST be plural in name, not singular like "portrait". ONLY portraits go into this folder. Haks, overrides, and anything else go into separate folders. Hope that's what you were looking for.

If you don't have WinZip, you can download it for free through Google. I just want to mention that WinZip is shareware, not freeware.

Iluris' portrait. I thought it was a perfect reflection of her personality: curiosity and 'naivete' towards the world and it's affairs. I just wish the skintone had the golden hue. xD

Manshin hasnt been around in forever, nor has he responded on the forums recently.
I heard a rumor that he's beginning to inseminate women to create an army of weapon masters to take over the west coast. Word has it that he's already got a kid pulling at his hair and ears quite a fair amount already hehe

dont know if this place has been mentioned yet but it has a good collection of nwn portraits, with only a few lame ones, some are over the top tho but you can pick and choose from packs of 5. the one i use is in there. im getting the frc custom portraits now so i dont have to stare at generic heads anymore. maybe include the best ones off this link with yours too (but dont forget the ugly dude with the bow)... nwn.thyle.net/portraits/index.htmledit: and i just now realized that this whole thread may be for 'make your own' portrait, and me here thinking that custom portrait means anything other than the normal ones. but whatever.

Yep, and when I return to FRC, I'll be stealing her likeness for an alt(But not her name or personality. I just love the appearance and feel I can do good things with it)
