So I know that this topic has been brought up before, but i could not seem to find a resolution outside of a old DM post in 2015 stating that it was something that would be planned for the future.
I have a have a friend who is playing a druid with a dire wolf companion, and wildshapes as a wolf preferring to RP her wolf persona. It would be really cool if I was able to have a wolf familiar as a wizard and RP having a pack of wolves. Anyways are custom familiars a thing on FRC and if so how do you go about obtaining them?

They are not at the moment, as far as I am aware. It's also unlikely that fully-fleshed 'custom' familiars will happen soon to the best of my knowledge. Reskinning one on summoning is one thing, but a fully unique creature takes up an absurd amount of resources because it requires one creature blueprint per level. That's forty blueprints per creature, not counting any custom behavior scripts that might be necessary for whatever reason. That isn't to say that it could not happen, but I don't think such was a high priority.

Thanks for the information, similar to what I have read already its sucks that it requires a BP per LVL, but I think i would be plenty happy with just a reskin on summon, I'm currently using the panther as my familiar, but I guess it could be debated how similar they would be in combat. I have seen items like rings or books that modify what is summoned using the Summon Monster line of spells. Would it be similar to something like this for familiars that would just reskin upon summoning?

The relevant summoning script is, I believe, nw_s2_familiar.
