Hello, before I start I want to thank DM Raven for helping me with this question and guiding me. I would have sent a PM to him but I have not yet figured out how to do that or if it can be done. My question is will I be able to Have a DM upgrade my gear when I am able to pay for it? The description for my character "Kalis Delmaine" has him wearing ancient armor and when I rp and asked about it I tell other players that the gear has been handed down through many generations and its original origins lost to time. For this reason I am hoping to avoid having to rp with another player to have gear made and simply make it seem like he has always had the upgraded gear even though that will not be the case. The Gear Items in question are; Armor, shield, helm, cloak, and sword. I am not asking for any special properties that are not normally available on FRC, " though it would be cool to have a sword with intelligence and have to compete with it every time you wield it ", but not asking for anything like that. Simply when I am ready to go from master items to +1, +2 or +3 items that I can get them from a DM. DM Raven did mention that descriptions for items can be custom and I like that idea but will most likely not ask for that until I have upgraded to the highest there is to keep the DMs from having to do something like that for multiple items. Let me know if I need to clarify or provide any further information to help you make a decision. Thank you for all you do for us, I am really enjoying my time here on FRC. Kalis Delmaine

Hey.
There's actually equipment sold in stores ranging up to +3 for all the categories you listed, so it's not strictly necessary to go to another player-character to get more advanced gear. The easiest route to avoid having to turn to other players to upgrade your "legacy" equipment would be to buy the "upgrades" from shops. (Or, alternatively, craft it yourself...if you're into that.)
Items tend to be more expensive when purchased in shops rather than crafted, and there are some items that are only available via crafting (or DMs), such as bows with +enhancement rather than +attack, and armors/shields made of special materials, but it is viable to build a character using only shop-purchased items. (The expanded crafting system is a late-stage addition to FRC, so the shops should be able to support a character being fully equipped without any crafting.)

Thank you for the information I will find the shops and take a look. Also DM Raven has reached out to me and has also suggested a way to help me and I hope that will be the way to go. I did come across shops in 3 different towns and none of them had a scimitar better than masterwork. I am sure there are more places I have not yet discovered and will keep looking. Thank you so much.
