Okay, some recent threads are making me think of trying out a monk. Looking at the list of Orders, I noticed that the Hin Fist entry has the note "non-exclusive" at the end of the Deity line. What does this mean?

What does this mean? Though that is a post from DM Richard, I modified it in 2008 when I edited the entry to add the monk orders from the web enhancement Deity Do's and Don'ts, and I don't remember why I wrote (non-exclusive) beside of Hin Fist. Reading the top of the post, I wrote that it does say the Hin Fist is listed in both Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (FRCS) AND Deity Do's and Don'ts, but only lists deities in Deity Do's and Don'ts. So I probably put that there because FRCS doesn't list it with specific deities, and in fact, as I read it now, it says the order is not entirely exclusive to halflings. What does this mean? “run from this class like a lion was chasing you!” i love that line - my favorite one on the server review boards. lol good luck! i’m sure a veteran like you will know all the shortcuts.

Remember folks, DM:Q&A
Also,
The monk class is playable and a viable fun option in FRC. Of course it is not an obvious powerhouse like cleric, bard or wizard are, and I would not recomend it for those seeking immediate mechanical benefits in some build.
However, the monk gets the work done and is pretty good balanced when compared to the other base classes. Yes, the lower levels are significantly challenging for the monk, but the perks it offers later on are very much worth it.
