i suppose it could be just me, but in my 12 weeks here, the only ones i’ve ever come across are the dwarves, and the royal monster hunters (though only once).

Some guilds don't want to be widely known and thus do not make proclamations of any kind. Others, that are widely known, prefer not to make fuss of their activities. Some of these guilds are strictly secret, like Harpers. Others are involved in unlawful and/or evil activities. And others, though not illigal or especially secret per se, are not really sanctioned IG (though they are by the DMs). Cormyrian politics are more complex than it seems on the surface.

The Ironsworn indeed have members throughout the level range. Need only ask and you'd hear about the Mercenary Compamy.

Indeed, and he is always looking for more adventurers to join the suicide pact, Homicide groups, heroes, job list, friends, contacts, and those looking for connections with the power groups of the realm.

Simply, most of the guilds are not active -as- guilds. There are a couple that are more active, but overall unless there is an event that pulls them together, most guilds are not generally active in their guild forms.
As the player of a guild leader character, I generally find that players join guilds in hopes of having RP pushed their way and plots built for them to participate in. In my case, Zodika is a long-played and relatively (in)famous character, and players want the chance to be involved in her world of pseudo-evil political intrigue. Many characters, I feel, join in the hopes that their characters will suddenly be absorbed into this new world of RP and that there will be lots of neat things that they get sucked into. However, that's not what happens. I use my guild as a tool for other characters to use in their RP, plots and stories. The guild provides them support, but it doesn't make their stories or plots for them. I feel that many players bring their characters into guilds in hopes that plots will be built for them, then when it doesn't happen they give up.
I've found very few players who are willing to plot-build. I'm not talking about rp'ing their characters' stories, I'm talking about real plot building where they pursue things, contact DM's, work through problems (IC and OOC), outlast long breaks in plot sessions, etc. Sometimes that takes months, many times that takes years. Most players aren't willing to be that patient and when they learn it's not being given to them more easily, they give up or quit. This is even more true with evil guilds, thus most evil guilds are very rarely active and only pick up activity when the guild leader is active and players try to get involved in the plots that guild leaders tend to involve themselves in.
Those are my observations.

The Triadic Order is around and has Sunday morning dungeon crawls for roughly 10th level characters. For this you could reach out to Fiddlesticks or Aoi on the forums.
We're always looking to bolster our membership with folk who are of any of the faiths of Tyr, Torm, Ilmater (or the Triad as a whole) that are looking to engage in the group aspect of playing in a paladin order. I know that oftentimes paladins will be part of an order but there's really no structure behind it to give direction or to take part in that form of paladin/religious order RP so that is what we set out to remedy. Just to make it clear that even though we're a paladin order, any class is eligible to join and take part in shaping what we do as a guild.
Additionally, we also have a subgroup attached that is for paladins of all faiths to offer similar paladin order RP though with the number of paladins on the server that has yet to take off. This one isn't a guild though but with the set up of our guild area, we may be able to at least accommodate our area as a meeting house.
So to reiterate, if you've got a paladin or any class that's faithful to either Tyr, Torm, or Ilmater (or preferably the Triad as a whole) and looking to join in for some religious/paladin order RP, send me a PM.
If you're not a faithful of Tyr, Torm, or Ilmater and have a paladin of any faith that's looking for a group, send me a PM.

That can be a problem for new players. Especially with the "one guild per player" rule. Heck, as far as my elf knows, the center of elven culture in Greatgaunt is under the tree in front of Garrot's.

The Guardians, a natural circle are a very active guild and have many members in different time zones. It could be the time you come on. Time zones will always be a problem. Also you can always as character's in game as well.

There is an Organization of the Realms thread in this forum that will give you an idea of the different guilds and what they stand for.

Dwarfs and Guardians are very active as mentioned. Vaunted and Triad used to be extremely active but have lost players and gone quiet the last couple of years.

To clarify Triadic matters. 1 member left us for another guild. 2 members are away dealing with Real Life, they haven't left and plan to return. 2 new members joined. Such is life, we're still active and involved in things. Two of us are in Euroland so if you are EU timezone and want to play Triadic, get in touch As Stabby said, we're running a lowbie group for Squires and their allies and also I started a non-guild group to help foster paladin rp between non-Triadic and Triadic paladins which is in its infancy so any interest in that is welcome.

The Guardians are a nature mined bunch. We have members in different time zones. We usually meet on Tuesdays. Usually one of us are on.
We usually are around in gg. In the rp forums you can "post" on the inn boards you wishing to meet members of a certain guild.
