Ok for another character to play when other level 3 character has to wait a day to return to low level beginning dungeons:
I thought I would make a Monk/Ranger/Champion of the Divine.
I figure I could start, create the character as a member of the appropiate order, say Sun Soul, or Yellow Rose.
And because of that, start as a level 1 Ranger, with Weapon Finesse.
Then Multiclass back and forth between Monk, Ranger until Monk level 6, Ranger Level 3, then leave the Order, Forever quit Monk Levels, then become Champion of Divine.
Stats: Str 10, Dex 18, Con 10, Wis 14, int 12, Cha 12
So how do I join, start as a member of a Order at Character Creation?
Whats the Process? Do I just simply inform the DM's, or do I post the character in the Registry?
How do I do this?
Also thought about a Monk/Cleric/COD of the Illmater Broken something Order that allows Clerics, Divine Champions as free Multiclassing.
Would start as Cleric so that could get a decent AC with Armor, Shield. Then once became a Monk, with a higher Dex, wisdom bonus, would eventually get rid of Armor, Shield, Gradually get lighter Armor, smaller shield until had, have no Armor, no shield.
Stats Str 10 or 12, Dex 16, Con 10 or 12, int 12,or 13, Wis 14,or 15, Cha 12,or 13,
So with the cleric version, can I start as a member of the Order, or do I have to join Order after character creation?
Also if create character as member of order, how do that?
Also which build, version should I go with, cleric version, or ranger version?
Thanks for any help

You don't need to make any official announcement about joining an order. However, if you leave one, you need to PM the DM team to let them know of this, with the information of your current levels so that it can be noted that you aren't ever returning to monk. As the multiclassing rules with monks have been posted to you several times, I'm going to suggest you read the appropriate DM Q&A post. Using the forum's search function is a very helpful time-saver. frc.proboards.com/thread/21677/dm-monk-multiclassing Build advice should be moved to the Crunch, not General Discussion.

Using the forum's search function is a very helpful time-saver. frc.proboards.com/thread/21677/dm-monk-multiclassing Build advice should be moved to the Crunch, not General Discussion. Tho the rules about multiclassing have been posted to me, and to the forum, 1,2, maybe even 3 times(not SEVERAL, thus inplying, insinuating about 4,5,6,7+, LOTS of times(1,2,maybe even 3 times is NOT SEVERAL, LOTS of time, (You HYPERBOLE EXAGGERATE), tho that's the case, the actual process of how to join, start in a ORDER, has not been said to me, not seen by me, until now, when you said that didnt have to do anything to start as member of the Order, that it is supposedly, assumed, etc, that you are a member of that order, until if you leave, then have to inform DM's. Btw I tho I did not use the forum search, I did look thru the DM Q&A area, and did not see anything that answered how join a Order at character creation. Now maybe there was, and I just didnt see it. Thats a possibility as well. Also I posted this here, instead of the DM Q&A, because sometimes it takes the DM's a LONG time to answer, which is understandable. Also I decided to kill 2 birds with one stone, by asking opinions on about whether Monk/Cleric/COD, or Monk/Ranger/COD. While that may or maybe even probably more appropiate in the crunch, this is the GENERAL SECTION(As in covering a lot of different areas, topics, etc. I suspect that most, exceot for you and a few others in the minority, are ok with this kind of thread being posted in the GENERAL SECTION. Thanks for your help, post

The forum rules request that deep build crunching and character meta be done inside the crunch sub board. The general boards are for questions alike "what does being in an order take"
Versus is XYZ class stat combo. "Good"

Thanks for your help, answers to questions, and for your clarifications.
The General Discussion area heading, descriptions says: This Is The Area For General Questions, Discussion, On, About Topics, Related to The Game, FRC, etc(AKA character class builds, amongst other things, if go by that description, header.)
I hope you all realize how a newer player to FRC forums, how, why they might interpret that header, description to mean that ok to post what I posted.
That said, now that give clarification, go by that, will post the class build stuff in the crunch section.
Also Politely, nicely asking newer people to post that stuff in the crunch and clarifying like the clarification given, is more effective then just rudely, meaning, bluntly jumping on a newer person, telling them to not post in General Section, and instead post in Crunch section, and not explain why, or if explain why, be rude, mean, blunt, etc, about it.
Thanks to those who nicely clarified in contrast to the person who didnt nicely clarify, but instead decided to jump all over me.
Thanks for your help, clarification, post.

asturonethoriusalineThere is an Ilmateri monastery of the Broken Onees ingame. Your character could ask about it in character, travel there and notify the monks there that he wishes to join their order. Although that is optional, of course. Since both order let you start as something else other than monk, then you can just say your ranger or cleric is about to begin his monastic training.

The first thing in a board is the sub boards. In "general" one of the sub boards is crunch. With a description of what its for.
One of the pinned threads in the general page. Is also a description and request for people to use it where it comes up.
Though this could likely be better linked into the forum rules themselves to avoid events such as this. Ciest la vi.
My apologies if i sounded like a harpy. I was mearly clarifying a rule and structure evidently easy to miss. This fact eill be passed upwards to improve forum exploring in newer folk.

I suppose that like what you, others said, say, that altho not required, to make an announcement, not even required to inform DM's, unless I were to leave order, that I could start as Cleric, then take 1st monk level at lev 2, then announce. Inform DM that joing the Broken ones order, altho not required. Then try to make a pilgrimage to the Monastery, Order, altho not required. Then take Divine Champion level 1 at 10th level. Is that kind of what your advocating Razgriz?

Hey its all good. You have been nice in this thread, and my comment about being nice, was not to you. I replied to the mean, blunt persons post, comment, where they ninja edited their post, because the part of their post, that my Response of, to their's mentioned the word SEVERAL, that was about, was edited, removed from their post, so it no longer looks mean, blunt. That was not you. Thanks for your post, comment, help.

For instance, a cleric of Ilmater not affiliated to the broken oens that hears about them and after speaking with the monks there, he decides he wishes to become one of them to better serve Ilmater.

Ok so your saying that storylistically there is a storylistic explanation of, behind how that even though I can start as level 1 cleric, then take level 1 monk, join Broken Ones Order, but dont have to let anybody know to do that, that there is a story explanation, that can explain how I joined Order, even tho I wasnt required, didnt have to tell anybody that I joined Order, or why I joined Order. The story is just a explanation that can exolain why, but dont have to tell that story to people. Is that what you mean, meant?

You are not required to make full write ups of your story.
So king as your characters progression is in line with the mukticlass rules ect. The story is soley on you to tell in game through RP. But there is a space on the forum to post character journals, backstory and origin. But the information is considered ooc knowledge until presented otherwise. Makes sense?

But there is a space on the forum to post character journals, backstory and origin. But the information is considered ooc knowledge until presented otherwise. Makes sense? Ok so what your saying is that I create toon as level 1 cleric. I dont have to tell anybody including DM's, that the cleric is either a member of, joining the Monk Monastery, Order of the Broken Ones. It is either that or assumed that, because that's because I either say so, without having to say I say so. Then when get to level 2, I take level 2 Monk. I can do this because of being in the Broken Ones Order. I dont have to announce that to anybody. That said I do, would, should have to Roleplay it out in game, meaning that IC if anybody were to ask IC, and if I were to have no reason IC to not conceal, and if I wanted to be honest, answer IC, etc, I would say IC that a member of the Broken Ones Order, etc. Is that what you mean by saying Roleplay out story in game? Is this what you mean? Also your saying I could post journal, backstory, background, origin, etc, to the Adventurer's Registry if I want to, but not required Is that what you mean? But other then that, I dont have to tell anybody, including the DM's, unless if were to leave the Order of the Broken Ones, to Multiclass into a class that not allowed by order(Which not going to happen since I intend to play toon as a Monk/Cleric/Divine Champ, all of which are approved multiclass classes of the Broken Ones Order.) Is that, this right, what you mean? Thanks.
