This is a pretty big moment for FRC. I don't think I can appreciate the depth of hard work hours, volunteering, and patience that was needed to make this transition. I can guess at it, but I don't actually know the numbers. The who. The when. I have a window of my perception, my own participation with FRC over the years. But with this? as with all huge projects? I have an idea of to whom individually I am thankful towards. But I'm not going to call out individuals in this post because I also know the truth is this:
A lot of individuals over the years, and especially over the last year (in regards to this subject), have given over a lot of their time to keep FRC going and I have no way of knowing who they all are.
I just wanted to take a moment to say Thank You.
It wasn't something that was simply going to manifest because someone else could buy it from the store. You can't just go around the block to the mall and summon up the cooperation or volunteer time it takes to make something like FRC happen. We have what we have right now, because some really nice people decided to give themselves to us.
So this is why they call it a community. There comes a point when you can't follow the thread of people who's hands have been in FRC, unless you pull back and look at it as a whole.
FRC has and really incredible people that I think that those of us who have been here for a while can point to as the ones we are looking to. Maybe they were the ones you thought about as I wrote this thank you. The workload is uneven. The volunteer work has been slogged through by champions. Our own personal FRC Heroes.
The point is, I am thankful. If you played FRC for one minute. If you administrated for FRC for 12 years. I'm glad and thank you.
