FRC Prestige Class Rules
The following rules apply to the selection of Prestige Classes and Feats on FRC.
1. Level Requirement - A Player Character on FRC should have time to develop in game through roleplay before committing to a special career path. Therefore a Player Character on FRC may take their first Prestige Class Level upon reaching Level 10 at the earliest, so long as all the prerequisites are met.
2. Prestige Class Limit - A Player Character on FRC may only select one Prestige Class in their career. Choose wisely!
3. Some Prestige Classes require DM Team Approval - Some PRC's require DM Team approval on FRC if stated below. The FRC Prestige Class Application may be found below, here:
frc.proboards.com/post/316883/thread
4. Arcane Archer Special Consideration - The Arcane Archer Prestige Class is capped at 10 Levels on FRC.
5. Blackguard Special Consideration - An application is not required to play the Blackguard PRC at this time but Blackguard players are required to advise a DM or EDM about their character's pact with an evil outsider upon taking their first Blackguard level.
Each Blackguard is aware of the entity that granted them their power and this needs to be represented in roleplay on FRC.
The blackguard epitomizes evil. The quintessential black knight, this villain carries a reputation of the foulest sort that is very well deserved. Consorting with evil outsiders, the blackguard is hated and feared by all. Some people call these villains anti-paladins due to their completely evil nature.
The blackguard has many options available to them - sending forth dark minions and servants to do their bidding, attacking with stealth and honourless guile, or straightforward smiting of the forces of good that stand in their way.
To that end a Blackguard on FRC is not an evil divine champion. The blackguard must make a pact with an evil outsider. That could include a representative of an evil deity, but not the deity themselves. If a deity is not evil, it is unlikely they would work with evil outsiders which means they would not qualify for a blackguard pact.
6. Harper Scout Special Consideration - The Harper Scout Prestige Class is restricted to members of the Harper Guild on FRC.
7. Purple Dragon Knight Special Considerations - The Purple Dragon Knight Prestige Class has the following restrictions. Note! The Purple Dragon Knight Prestige Class is not required for a character to be a Purple Dragon on FRC. A character may become a Purple Dragon on FRC by joining the Royal Corps of Monster Hunters (RCMH) Player Guild.
- The character must be a member of the RCMH Player Guild before taking the Purple Dragon Knight Prestige Class.
- The character must have earned a Knighthood from the crown through roleplay (DM Discretion).
- An application for this Prestige Class must be approved by the DM Team.
8. Red Dragon Disciple Special Consideration - The following special considerations apply to Red Dragon Disciples on FRC.
- An application for this Prestige Class must be approved by the DM Team.
9. Red Wizard of Thay Special Considerations - Players wishing to play a Red Wizard of Thay need to be aware of the following requirements. While the Red Wizard PRC is not mechanically supported on FRC, it does provide in game benefits due to the status and influence of those having the class. Before a character can be a Red Wizard on FRC the following criteria must be met:
- The character must be human, from Thay, and have a Thayan appearance.
- The character's alignment must be non-good.
- The character may dabble in other classes but wizard must be the primary character class for a Red Wizard.
- The character must adopt a Spell School as his or her Chosen School and have the Spell Focus and Greater Spell Focus feats in this school. Note: This does not mean the character must Specialize in a chosen school.
- The character must have the Arcane Defense feat in his or her chosen school.
- The character must take at least three additional metamagic or item creation feats (craft wand, empower spell, etc).
- The character may not take the Spell Focus feat in the Spell School opposed to his or her Chosen School as defined by NWN. (see table below).
- An application for this Prestige Class must be approved by the DM Team.
