Winter's cold was nearing. Back home in the Spine of the World, the fabled clan lands of the Battleaxe's and Longsword's were already experiencing heavy weather changes.
But in Cormyr within the Red Knight's temple, up in the War Room, Quake was complaining the loudest. The rest of the clan members sat, and regarded Helga while Quake just rambled in the Illuskan tongue.
"It is a waste of time! You're going out for nothing! You are leaving me again! You ... you and Ragnhild both! What are we to do without you each? Why, why?! It isn't fair! It isn't....it isn't fair...!" She slammed her fists into the table to make it crack. Shockwave rubbed her shoulders to aim for some semblance of calm.
Gjurd stepped out of the shadows abruptly. Seemingly late to the gathering, he set a hand on Helga's shoulder in support of her choice - something he's never known to do. Helga rose to speak next after Quake sat down.
"I have to make sure the Trackless Sea didn't consume her. Going far West is the first step, and then tracking is the second. The third is hoping...hoping that time heals all wounds. They're out there, and they may be suffering. It's my fault. She should be brought back. If she is alive and doesn't want to return then at least I can know..she...is alive..."
"No, it isn't your fault," retorted Ragnhild, the strategist being very aggressive in her eyes.
Helga and Ragnhild locked gazes and not in a pleasant manner. The tension was very clear. Finally, Helga spoke to the collective minds.
"Have Hope, come on...There are so many reasons to be negative and bitter. There are plenty of perspectives to establish hate by...but all it takes...is hope, time, and patience...and then...you never know?"
The room fell silent until Gjurd sat heavily into a chair, and plopped dirty boots onto the table. He pointed a finger towards Helga, "I have re-established a connection back in Calimshan to help facilitate some sense of ship travel. Helga ... the caution of sailing the Trackless Sea is an aggressive one. The stories are all very grim."
Quake looked very gloomy as she listened. Depressed.
Helga breathed out heavy, "I will leave in 4 days. I'm sorry, kin. Be strong, and trust in Ragnhild while I am not here. I...should return, sometime."
"Helga."
"What, Ragnhild?"
"I don't think I can win the battle without you. Please return." Ragnhild calmly express'. Helga merely regarded her with a level expression again until a smile formed. Ragnhild spoke on, "My own departure begins in roughly 58 days."
New to the stock was Rona. The Uthgardt looked back and forth between the lot as she understood to be the clergy leftover when Nightal struck.
