Cast continual flame on my morningstar (adds light to it) found a better morningstar - sold old one - - - 113 gp that cant be right - went off; new morningstar 22 gp sold it for 4 gp *slaps forehead* continual flame is a permantent upgrade - - casting magic weapon on an ordinary morningstar doesnt change is 4 gp sale price. - - Hmm i can cast 5 continual flames on a rest about 450 gp profit - hardly seems worth the time
except - i need to gather herbs - false unicorn etc - but my cleric never found any (based on search apparently) - until she cast true sight - - - so if am changing my spells so i can spend some time in town to gather herbs - - i might as well make petty cash?

Ah, the Good Old Days.
The first iteration of my Lathanderite cleric was as a 2nd Edition Specialty Priest. She routinely carried several wooden Holy Symbols (and a few copper pieces) upon which she had cast Continual Light... not to sell, but to give away. That's in addition to the various gear she had with Continual Light on it. It was a running joke that whenever the DM asked what we were using as a light source (meaning torch, lantern, etc), I'd reply "me".
Although it was mildly annoying whenever they'd all get Dispelled and I'd need several days of downtime to re-cast them all.
