Not trying to start a war here, I actually am curious. It seems that sometimes rules are enforced purely based upon speculation... For example, I have been traveling to certain places on a level 28 character for years now. (yes I have been level 28 for years) I was approached by a DM and told i'm to high for said area. I questioned how that is since I have done so for years.
In my opinion the area in question is just right for any level. I just so happen to have a character that has such great defenses, that it's just easy for them. Most dungeons are. In fact if I only traveled to the extremely hard ones, it would mean that I could go two or three places total.
It just seems to me that sometimes rules could be more clear. I hate asking Dm's to clarify because it can come across as me refusing to admit that i'm wrong. I'm wondering if someone could clarify level ranges for certain dungeons... Or, maybe there is a thread that I am missing that labels them out. I'm just not a fan of speculation is all.
Lastly.. The farming question. I was told that it could be considered farming for a high level character to go to a place that is deemed to easy for them. I am just wondering how that is since the character only nets 1xp from every kill. At level 28 you will rarely find better. In fact quests are your bread and butter for xp, or dm xp.
I thought farming was doing an area, or a certain thing over and over for some type of reward. I rarely travel on my level 28. I didn't think that a visit once per month was farming. Gold can't be a thing either since epics have literally nothing to spend gold on.
If these things could be explained I would appreciate it. Again not trying to say i'm right or wrong, i'm just throwing my view on the whole thing in.
