The door to the Golden Maiden blew suddenly open and startled Regriappi to the point where he nearly dropped the cup he had just got done drying with his tattered, albeit well loved, bar rag. A heavily fur mantled and hooded figure seemingly blew in with the blustering noise of rain and wind ... for a moment struggling to close the heavy inn door but managed well enough in the end with effort and once again the inn was quiet except for the resumed hushed whispers of the sparse patrons that huddled around a few heavy oak tables and spirits of their liking.
Removing the fur hood a thick tangle of blonde, dreadlocked, hair fell forth from its warm depth and cascaded over the narrow shoulders of a halfing woman ... the few beads woven at the ends of some of the hair clinked momentarily as they settled and grey eyes surveyed the common room with a mixture of both curiosity and familiarity ...
"Miss Moonyava!" Regrappi exclaimed as he set the mug down, a broad smile creasing his normally stolid features.
Smiling back the druidess casually tucked her hair the best she could behind slightly pointed ears before unclasping her mantle ...
"In here is for certain a better place ta be on a day like this Regi, seems that the Watchful Mother has decided the earth needs a good saturation", shaking out the small half cloak she wandered over and hung it on a bent rusty nail next to the fire place before returning to the bar ...
"So what brings you to Shally on a day like this then Miss Moonyava, less you're now studying raindrops", inquired the barkeep as he took out a small glass mug from under the worn wooden bar, examining it briefly to make sure of its cleanliness, and placing it on its' surface ...
... sitting up on one of the many stools cross-legged she couldn't help but laugh ...
"No, no rain testing or study just coming in for your fantastic pear juice and to see if anyone has inquired about the retreat actually."
"Well...", Regi started as he removed a small jug from a magically cooled cabinet ... promptly pouring a thick, almost clear, sweet smelling juice into the glass mug ... "one lady did inquire ... seen her a couple times, full of Life this gnome .. little ummm", lowers his voice, "strange ...", shrugging he clears his throat before continuing, "nice enough though .. goes by the name Nersha ...she said to say hi as well when I seen you next."
Sliding the glass toward Moonyava the small druidess's smile widened ... "That's fantastic, anyone else!?"
"Nope, sorry Miss Moonyava, she was the only one so far", pouring himself some ale.
"Well then seems I should wait for the retreat. For the best I suppose it IS getting cold as of lately. Can you let Nersha know, should you see her before I, that I think I'll be taking inquires through the winter and make it perhaps more of a spring retreat then?"
"Ofcourse, and I think you may be right Miss Moonyava, perhaps with the drier, warmer season more be apt to want to go out in the wilds and do that stretching of yours, eh?", at this the barkeep, with a toothy smile raised his glass of ale.
"A great barkeeper, maker of juice and wise", raises her own glass mug of juice with a wink, "to warmer seasons!"
Blushing Regi clinked her glass and they drank, ate and talked well into the afternoon as the rain continued outside until it slowly shifted to sleet and eventually snow ... ... all the while the wind howling ... ...a herald to the winter months fast approaching ...
