*The proper form used and delivered to the proper authority, Marister had penned a complaint.*
" On (11/5/16- admin can change to frc date), while outside the gates of Suzail near the barracks, the group I was with were savagely attacked by the bard known as Darius. The attack occurred shortly after the wizard's posting on the new warrant against him.
There was no warning, no chance to prepare ourselves. His attack was brutal and swift. He was concealed, thus making it a cowardly attack. Myself, the paladin known as Davice and his wife Glenda were the only ones killed. The rest of the party were unharmed and attempted to track him down but could not.
A war wizard, whose name I do not know, raised myself and Glenda."
Signed,
Marister

Also worthy of note is the fact that a Purple Dragon First Sword was practically within arm's reach of of the murders and took no action whatsoever. The killings did not happen instantly and there was plenty of time to intervene had he decided to. Perhaps this soldier's performance should be evaluated by his superiors.
In fact, the murders occurred just outside of a guard barracks where many guards would be wandering about, yet none took any action it seems.

//please do not meta-game npcs Could you help to clarify please who is being accused of meta-gaming and why? Basically, you cannot say that the guards took no action and/or are incompetent only because there were no DMs to control them. As for the aggressors, they should always notify the DMs to be prepared for their PvP in an area with NPCs and guards. Granted, sometimes there are no DMs online or they are busy doing something else. If this is the case, then giving their victims a chance or a minor advantage would speak volumes about your consideration for their own fun. This time, I think the one involved did that by leaving some of the party alive so that they could report the incident to the authorities and to their friends/allies.

Could you help to clarify please who is being accused of meta-gaming and why? It's been answered pretty well by Merc Sorry but I'm not buying it. There was a DM present to play the guards if desired. The ambush occurred seconds after a DM shout about Darius being on the loose. Immediately after, there was a war wizard on the scene. It was Darius and his penguin pal that meta-gamed the fact that the guards would allow the griefing. In any case, neither Davice nor Glenda will be a problem for you going forward.

you're annoyed that the DM chose to send in high level battlemages instead of generic guardsmen in +1 gear?

Is that the 'generic guard' that you are referring to? The war wizard did not show up until the griefing was over, which I am sure was by design.

I highly advise filing a PM with a DM with your entire side of what occured then rather than getting angry in the open. We do not need a back and fourth derailing Animayhem's post any further.

//I would say it is an apt time to simply lock this thread. The report has been filed and this discussion has ceased to be productive. If you all are having discrepencies with another player or staff member, perhaps consider contacting the staff or one of our lovely Player Advocates here in a PM?
