Greetings, High Inquisitor.
In light of the mounting violence in Cormyr at the hands of the fugitives Shurupack and Darius, I strongly recommend the following city ordinance suggestion be written into law:
"During such times that a royal warrant for capture is written, Valkur's Roar will protect citizens and visitors by way of gate identification, until such a time that said warrants are cleared. Until fugitives named in active warrants are captured or proclaimed as having fled the kingdom by warrant issuing authority, all persons entering the city of Valkur's Roar will be required to remove any items or effects from their person that obscure identity, such as hoods and helmets and magic obscurement / concealment. Upon suspicion, they will further be required to present identification, be it an adventuring charter, commerce license, or other official document bearing seals recognized within the kingdom of Cormyr. Persons refusing to cooperate with gate guards during times this ordinance is active will be denied entry to Valkur's Roar. Such precautions are to ensure the safety of our citizens, and will not be waived under any circumstance until royal warrants are satisfied."
... as per the portion of my commission that calls for "reasonable cooperation from citizens and visitors of Valkur's Roar," I have begun doing these checks myself, but with an ordinance written, the rank and file guard will have clear guidelines to help us... I am only one individual, and we have four gates. Please give serious consideration to this... time is of the essence, as lives are at stake. Thank you High Inquisitor, and by way of approval for ordinance, thank you Lord Baron Crownsilver.
~Tanya Steel, Inquisitor commissioned, Valkur's Roar~
addendum: Though I've specified an active requisite for this ordinance, it may serve us all well in the long run to draft it into standing law, regardless of the presence of royal warrants, to be carried out as standard duty.
