DM Hawk AbiiJabari sets to work in his shop, laying out the materials he had on hand, as well as procured to start work on the desired blade hilt: a hellfire wyrm scwle, the scale of a black dragon, a bundle of finely cured dinosaur hide, a bar of mithril, copious amounts of adamantine shavings along with spidersilk twine, planks of ironwood. He works first, laboriously, on designing the specialty-made curved tsuka for the eventual blade, still cursing the project itself for not being able to follow the proper process of forging a katanna. Nonetheless he is thankful for the work, and determined to poor his all into the craft of his portion of the work. He sets into the design process in earnest, spending several days sketching out the seppa (washer), tsuba (handguard), fuchi (ferrule), and the kashira (pommel), into a general blueprint and pattern to follow, restarting from scratch many times. Eventually satisfied, he sets to work designing the ito (silk wrapping), and the menuki (ornamentation under the ito). Overall the process of designing each piece takes roughly a tenday's worth of time, once all is settled and he is satisfied with the full layout, he sets about preparing to begin crafting the hilt itself.
