Thunderstone. He'd traveled a ways to get there, but it was worth it. As Shiro passed through the town, making his way to the outskirts, he began to wonder. Would this Kori person know much about the Ace? Just how well did she know her and what could she tell him? Would she be honest? So many questions passed through his buzzing mind, yet as he approached the gates of the keep the buzzing quieted, slowly replaced by the sheer excitement of what he was seeing. "The Royal Corps of Monster Hunters," he spoke aloud in a voice filled with reverence. This was it, he was finally going to get his answers. As he passed through the gates, he stood in awe. The keep was fairly plain as they went, but to him it was everything he had hoped it would be. The sparse courtyard which contained but a stables and various training dummies and equipment were far from glorious, but to him this was the Promised Land. He simply stood for a time as he admired the keep, wild dreams beginning to fill his head. This would be the place where it started: This was where he would begin the journey to become the next 'Ace of Blades.'

Among any other bustle the swordcaptain might be found to one side of the keep, accompanied by the occasional twang of a bowstring being loosed. She practices alone at the archery range, the bristling quiver and target showing that she had been at it for a while and intended to keep on for some time. The woman herself is fairly nondescript; far outstripped in beauty even by the equipment she carries. She wears a light-duty uniform that carries her rank pin and the other signatures of a Purple Dragon Knight, a heavy quiver and soldier's mace of blue glass hanging from either side of her belt. Kori looks to be in her late twenties, any beauty she has being marred by a terrible scar leading down her right profile and signs of regular exhaustion. Her light blond hair is tied back with a slender blue ribbon, keeping the shoulder-length locks out of her way.
She nocks and looses another arrow, shooting without much actual skill if her form is any judge. However, the arrow strikes into the target solidly, narrowly missing a small cluster of shafts.

If he happened by the bar in Thunderstone, he might come across the "Ace of Beards" sitting there drinking Tripple Bocks, eating blueberry pie and hectoring any passing pretentious, pissin wizzers or elfish witches...

Someone did in fact happen by the bar, a shady-looking man wearing a worn suit assisted by a rotten wooden staff that is so bloated by water that it has begun splintering. The man is greeted at the door as the "Ace of Mage". Eishur Greyshade, the infamous scourge to the kingdom of Cormyr and its populace, known for being a disreputable ungentleman of the highest order.
Well inside the establishment he reveals his ugly but shaded mug, the patrons of the bar cannot help but to sigh when they see who has arrived. Eishur makes sure to take a seat next to the "Ace of Beards" for the sole reason that he was perceived as the most unpleasant person in the room.
Some of the patrons seated nearby Eishur would take note of his unusually bad stench, they would express their discontent in murmurs, "Smells worse than a grove of druids" one would say, "A vagrants underwear smells better" another would say and a third "I'd rather eat from a trashcan than smell this guy right now".

As Furin's nose hairs curl from the mixed aroma of stale cabbage, sweaty feet and rotting garbage, a pixie or two might emerge to light tiny sulfer torches/matches and sprinkle some of Furin's Elfish Delousing PowederTM on the walking collection of foul odors...

Looking around the courtyard, Shiro could see everyone training hard. The excitement was so great he could hardly stand it: This was it, this was the Royal Corps of Monster Hunters! Looking around the courtyard, Shiro could see everyone training hard. The excitement was so great he could hardly stand it: This was it, this was the Royal Corps of Monster Hunters! But he couldn't let himself get side tracked; he was here for a reason after all, and that was Fiona Lightfellow: The Ace of Blades. But which one of these people was Kori? Rather than ask any member that passed his way, he decided to do things the easier way. His way.
Taking a deep breath, Vincent let out a mighty yell: "OIIIIIIII! I'm lookin' for Kori! Anyone here know a Kori? Anyone seen Kori? How the hells do you even SPELL Kori? Is or C-O-R-I-E, C-O-R-E-Y, I DUNNO BUT SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL 'ER I'M LOOKIN' FOR 'ER!"

{Apparently, Kori can be found by the archery range, as indicated by the post above. If she doesn't hear the yelling, one of the other monster hunters can point her out.}

{Apparently, Kori can be found by the archery range, as indicated by the post above. If she doesn't hear the yelling, one of the other monster hunters can point her out.} Upon learning her whereabouts, Shiro rushed to the archery range. As he approached the woman of whom several members of the corps pointed out due to his repeated asking, he began to grow nervous. What would she tell him about the Ace? Would she be secretive and decide not to say anything, or would she limit the amount of information she would tell him? He needed to know everything about the Ace if he was to have any chance of beating her in the possible future. After a moments hesitation he decided that if one didn't venture then one wouldn't gain. "Hey there," he would say, trying his best not to sound sheepish. "You're Kori, right? Please tell me you're Kori. Otherwise I gotta go ask someone else ta show me where she is. Again. So please be Kori!"

The woman looks Shiro over for a long moment before answering, loosely holding her ancient-looking, runed longbow.
"That would be me, yes. What can I do for you? I hope it doesn't involve more bellowing."
