Euphoric, the only word that described that feeling of the icy winds kissing the edges of his wings, the webbing of the span. The cool air casting against the underside of his wings with each heavy beat, the updrafts throwing him back further into the sky. As the clouds broke around him, the sun crested against his scales in a warmth all but lost amid the rushing winds around him. His chest heaved a heavy breath, loosing it out in the mixture of a powerful roar, a commanding call in domination of the skyline around him. The black scales rippled along his chest as the vibrations shook his body, the noise echoing far off even down to the plains beneath him. His legs hugged in tight near his chest as his body twisted sharply in the air, spiraling in a roll as he ushered himself forward. The leather straps reigned around his neck were yanked taut as a screech of either terror or excitement was proclaimed nearly in vain over the roars of the winds around the dragon.
"Hells Fenix, you're going to kill me if you keep doing that! Down further before I freeze!"
The snakelike neck of the dragon cascaded backward to look upon its companion, the rider clutching tightly around his neck, her slender legs pinned into his sides and hooked back with holsters to keep her secure. A fond glimmer crackled in his eyes, but his head nodded as his body took a sudden dive, piercing the clouds again in a wide birth, barreling downward at a breakneck pace. His wings flung outward and cast around, the wind cascading over them again as his descent slowed and his body continued forward, the screams of the young elven woman still lingering even as their fall slowed. His body shivered with an electric enjoyment, his talons clicking against one another in a manner of pleasure with himself. He circled his claim in the air for a moment, giving a wide berth in the air, letting her screams fall back to panicked, wheezing breaths. His chest rumbled, clear amusement in a hearty laugh as prismatic eyes flicked to her amusedly.
"You're an ass, boy!"
A toothy grin was flashed, and his head bobbed in a nod as he continued to blaze a trail forward through the sky. His tail lifted, dragging a blanket from the bags tied on his flank and placing it around the elven woman snugly. His tilted eye watched her as she nestled into it, and then nuzzled against the side of his neck. Her arms wrapped back around him, her hands tight to his scales. His head rested back against her momentarily, before turning to gaze back to the path ahead.
"Rest easy for now, Avae'ess. Our travels will land us outside Dina in another day's flight. I was just having a spot of fun."
His tail curled behind him, wavering in his wake. The beating of his wings became a lullaby as the elfess spoke softly to him. "Lach'lann will be eager to meet you. I cannot wait for you to meet him. Just..remember the manners we worked on, yes?"
The dragon snorted brashly in retort, his eyes falling to the plains painted beneath them like a brilliant art, the outline of a last village along the river visible in the horizon.

Feeling the soft dirt beneath her dirt, Daphne sighed contently, her weak legs buckling underneath her a moment as she attempted to find her balance. Three days in the air had taken its toll upon her, though now, she was glad to be back upon the ground. Her furred-gloved hand run through her windblown hair, her cheeks and nose rose kissed from the cold air. She turned her olive green eyes toward Fenix, hearing his bones crack as he shifted back into his half-Elven form.
"'Tis cold this day." she said, rubbing her arms as she watched the warm plume of air escape her chest.
"Indeed it is." Fenix replied, his eyes glancing upward to the canopies. "Are we close to Dina, my love?"
"Aye we are. I am hoping the Golden Guards have seen our arrival." Daphne blew a warm breath into the palms of her hands, rubbing them together in an attempt to find some warmth in the snowy air.
"You sent word to them yes?" he asked.
"I did, yes. I sent a letter to Lach'lann perhaps four days before our departure. I am hoping it has arrived at least, if not, they shall be rather surprised by our arrival." She smiled, tugging up the hood of her fur coat. Fenix simply nodded, stepping closer toward her and pulling his scarf in closer to his neck.
"Let us make our way then before we catch an unwanted chill." Their boots began to crunch beneath the snow as they stepped, following the tree line with the Elven engravings etched into the trunks. Daphne walked over to one tree, using the back of her hand to rub the ice from the bark, revealing the rune beneath. She nodded to herself.
"Good, we are in the right place." she said surely, looking over her shoulder to Fenix who still seemed to be gazing about.
"What exactly are you looking for, Avae'ess?"
"Runes. Each one is a story that leads to the entrance of Dina. However, only those who know what they seek know what to follow as some are true, some are false." She rubbed the ice off the bark once again. "This one here means Dina or in common tongue, 'to be silent.' That is how I know we are following the right path."
"Ah, I see." Fenix's lips curl tiredly, attempting to show his interest though his eyes spoke of seeking rest. She let her fondness appear upon her features, her lips curling and shoulders dropping as she glanced upon him, her hand held out in front of her.
"Come my love, we are not far."

Travels through the snow fluffed wood had an arrogant peace to them. As if the very lands themselves were at ease, yet expected the worst to happen upon those whom disturbed the untouched powdering that occasionally slipped from the branches and boughs high above the two travelers. They stepped with care, the lithe young elven woman leading the man carefully through the path and off the beaten trail with a keen, fond familiarity. Her olive green eyes glimmered with a sparkle of fluorescent joy in them, her fingers tracing the trees in passing and letting glow the faint runes that were etched into their barks. As her fingers touched upon each one, her soft voice lightened the air around them with their tale, their part of the story of Dina. The City of Silence was a place not only in her heart, but breathing through her very being in a vibrant manner with each step that neared her to their goal.
"But a few more paces, love." She would urge the man, tugging him by the arm excitedly. A fond love shone in her eyes, her smile never ceasing, and her excitement near overflowing as it tempted to engulf him.
Fenix laughed a heartfelt laugh as he gazed upon the thrumming excitement of Avae'ess. Fatigue was stoneworked into his features, despite his attempts to dissuade the indication of it, yet he continued to trek on evenly at her side. His prismatic gaze seemed to skirt their surroundings coolly, though his wonder at the vast beauty of the High Forest around them spared no time for rest. He gazed all about and up and down through the trees, canopies, the woodland around them. He studied and watched each rune that she touched, his tipped ears perking attentively to every word she uttered to him of their history. "Pull my arms much harder and you will crack them from the frost freezing them over, saera. Calm yourself, aye?"
"Calm myself?" She yelled back tauntingly, excitedly. "Why in the hells might I do that?! We are nearly there and you are trailing behind! How are you not brimming as I!"
"The two days of flight and the fidgety elfess would be tend to put a soreness and need for rest in one's bones. I am not so lucky to be escaped from the need to sleep as you are." He retorted with a remarkable grin, his tone coy and provoking.
She laughed gleefully, slapping his shoulder with a hard swat. Her arms encased his shoulders as she looked up to him from her low stature, her eyes shining as they flicked between his own. "I want to see them again."
His head canted sidelong slightly. "See what again?"
"Your eyes. They are far too beautiful."
"They have gone nowhere, Avae'ess." His lips curled at the edges.
"Your -real- eyes you ass." Smiling in spite of his remarks.
He grinned freely at her loss of control, the dancing wisps of color in his eyes draining like a smokey haze, before a rich, vibrant brown filled in those orbs. They gazed with a loving sparkle within them upon the small elfess, the rich browns meeting those lovely soft olive eyes.
"Let me warm you some, hey?" She said softly. Her legs pushed up as her feet bent, bringing her to her toes. His body was kept straight, though his arms encased her warmly, protectively. He lifted her from her raised perch, bringing her up to his height in his arms. Her lips found his just as their eyes met evenly, each closing them in simple enjoyment. His chest heaved in a heavy breath, the scent of her being drawn deep into his nostrils as he savored the experience of the moment they shared. Her lips soft, a kiss not in lust but in tender affection, explored his own, arms tightening around him and hugging into his grip. The moment was held for a lover's endless time, before they parted with a small shared sigh. Their eyes met forth again, smiles unable to retain their hidden visages upon their features. Her feet dangled beneath her, kicking back and forth just slightly against his legs playfully, before they found footing in the snow once again. His hand clasped into hers, gazing over her endearingly, not shying away with the glances she spared back to him as they began to walk once more.
"Just a few more miles. Then we can rest and enjoy our time away."
He left a heavier sigh lingering in the air behind them, the foggy cloud drifting in a swirl up toward the canopies. "Just a touch further, aye." His tone came playfully bitter, a grin surfacing.
She cast a look up to him as they walked deeper into the abyss of the twisted woods. "I love you, Fenix."
"And I you, Avae'ess."

"We are here, my love." Daphen spoke softly, a warm breath escaping her chest and pluming into the cold winter air in front of her. Her gloves hand gestured toward a stone cliff face, it's structure tall and rugged. To his eyes, the clif would have seemed plain, completely ordinary with nothing special about it and Daphne could see this was exactly what he had thought as he gazed upon it.
"This is it?" Fenix questioned, her tone confused yet curious as his brow raised. Daphne simply nodded in reply, stepping closer toward the cliff face and pressing her palm flat upon it, her voice softened.
"Aye, we are here..." She turned to look over her shoulder, gesturing him to come closer to her before taking his hand, tugging off his glove and pressing his bare palm to the cold stone. "Close your eyes and tell me what it is you feel." she watched him with flickering, curious eyes, gazing upon him and watching for his reaction. He seemed to consider a moment, blinking a few times before looking to her with his brow still raised questioningly.
"I feel... the cold?" he said, tilting his head slightly. Daphne snerked, shaking her head sightly in amusement.
"I want you to try again, this time, close your eyes and let your ears be your guide. Just listen..." With a sigh, Fenix closed his eyes, shiting his footing to take upon a more relaxed stance; his hand still pressed firmly to the stone. Slowly his right ear twitched, his brow knitting slightly. "Can you hear the magic?" she whispered. His eyes opened, gazing upon his with a confused yet intregued expression.
"I could... What is that?" he asked, letting his hand fall back to his side.
"That is the ward that hides the entrance to Dina." Her olive eyes shimmered, her tone fond as her lips curled. She turned her head to the cliff face, stepping back a few paces and closing her eyes to begin speaking an encantation; her voice shifting deep with a mysterious echo. "Calen ar' malta, Dinaerea naa neva. Aeye lle Dina." (Green and golden, the silent ones are near. Hail the silence.) The rock wall began to creak, a series of engraving appeared under the influence of a magical light around the cave's entrance. Slowly the illusion faded and the cave's mouth appeared before them. "Let us enter before we are seen love."
"I- Ah, yes. Let's." Fenix stuttered in amazement, following behind the lithe elfess and stepping inside.
* * * * *
"Hail, Lady Avae'ess." A tall Elven solider said as she flicked back her fur hood to stand before him. He removed his gold and green helm, letting his long black hair fall from beneath as he gazed happily upon her with green eyes. His leather vest enbosed with a leaf design running down each side and long, thick woolen cloak strung over his shoulders to keep him warm in the snow. "Welcome back to Dina. It is good to see you have returned home."
"My thanks Jorildyn. 'Til good to see you again, brother." Her lips cured fondly, her arms wrapping around his shoulders a moment in a tight, friendly embrace. He held her close, though his eyes soon darted up toward Fenix who stood patiently behind the both of them. "Oh, how rude of me." she said, releasing from the hug. "This is my betrothed, Fenix Vale."
"Oh, well congratulations to you both." he said dipping his head formally with his gloved hand pressed to his chest. "May Hanali smile down upon you both." Daphne dipped her head formally in return before grinning fondly to them both, taking Feni's hand in hers and holding him close.
"By any chance Jorildyn, is Commander Lach'lann about?" she asked, her eyes shimmering at the mention of his name.
"I am afraid not, the Commander is out on patrol with a few of the men. Seems the Dhaerow have been up to no good throughout the forest and the Commander wished to see what was happening upon the forest floor."
"Oh, I see." Daphne's grin drew slowly from her lips, her disappointment eviden upon her features. "Perhaps he did not receive my letter."
"Was he expecting you Lady Avae'ess?" Jorildyn asked, tucking his helm more securely beneath his arm.
"I thought he may have been. I sent word but I doubt it would have arrived by now." she attempted to force a curl upon her lips once again as she glanced back up toward him, letting out a slow, quiet sigh. "For now, I think I will head for my quarters so we may seek rest."
"Of course, please, allow me to escort you both." Jorildyn called over to two of the men who stood warming their hands over a small fire adjacent to the guard's shack. Their heads turned immediately, grabbing their bows and slowly running toward him with cold, stiff legs. "I am escorting Lady Avae'ess and her betrothed to their quarters. Keep the grounds safe."
"Aye sir." They nodded, their hands tucked under their arms to keep them warm.
The three of them began making their way through the settlement; tall oaks surrounding a fountain that despite the cold, seemed to have a continuous flow of water. Daphne could see Fenix gazing around, taking in the beauty of the city as night slowly began to drift over them; the aqua hued flames lighting the paths around the trees. She simply grinned fondy toward him before continuing on the follow Jorildyn toward the largest tree and entering through two large, wooden doors. Upon entering, Daphne watched Fenix's expression, his eyes widening as he gazed upon the grand hall. A series of pillars housed aquamarines upon their peeks, wooden beams reaching through to the centre of the room where flower shaped bells hung. The entire room had a magical presence about it as the shimmering sound of the weave and water dipping down the bells echoed quietly throughout the hall. Daphne chuckled lightly at his expression.
"'Tis beautiful is it not?" She aksed quietly, her voice but a mere whisper.
"It is... Beyond words." Fenix replied, glancing around and taking in each new sight. The sound of the doors closing echoed with a boom throughout the room, getting both of their attention once again as Jorildyn walked towards them; his boots clunking on the wooden floor with each step.
"Shall we continue?" Daphne nodded, gesturing for him to leading on as the followed him toward the spiral stairwell on the far side of the hall. Each step seemed to heighten her excitement as she climbe the stairwell in silence behind Jorildyn and Fenix. She loved this city and felt it was her home more than her actual birthplace. Though her mind circles around many thoughts. She felt estatic to see Lach'lann again upon his return from his patrol, yet felt a slight hint of anguish at having to face her fear of pushing him away. She knew more than anything that this was the place she belonged, though until her work was finished in Cormyr, there was little chance for her to live here.
"Here we are m'Lady." Jorildyn said, pulling a bunch of keys from his belt and attempting to sort through them, trying to work out which was the one to fit the lock upon her door. Daphne chuckled lightly.
"Please, allow me..." she said, stepping forward and taking a jeweled string from her jacket pocket. A silver key detailed with vines sprung from her pocket, the top of it encrusted with an emerald and kept in place by two silver leaves. Placing the key into the lock, she opened the door, the hinges creaking from being closed for a long period of time. The room was decorated elogantly; a large bed sat on the far side of the room with large windows either side. Long crimson drapes hung either side of the bed and floral string decorations hung from the beams upon the roof. The room had a warmth about it, whether it was the chestnut hue of the wood or the presence of her being home. Either way, Daphne felt relaxed to be back.
"Rest well Lady Avae'ess, Fenix." Jorildyn said with a dip of his head as the two of them stepped into the room. "I will leave you to regain your strength after travelling such a distance."
"My thanks Jorildyn." she replied, letting her lips curl slightly before looking over her shoulder at Fenix who was lifting a vase to inspect its detailing. Immediately, Daphne turned back, stepping in closer to Jorildyn an letting her voice quieten to a whisper. "If you see Commander Lach'lann, can you tell him I have arrived please, brother?"
"Of course m'Lady." he whispered in return.
"And please, give him this." Daphne quickly fumbled through her pocket, pulling a brown letter from within sealed with a green leaf stamp and handing it to him in secret. "I wish to meet with him in private when I have a chance." Jorildyn simply nodded, taking the note and placing it into a pocket beneath his leather vest, turning and walking down the hallway. Daphne sighed quietly, placing her hand onto the door to pull it closed slowly. 'I will see you soon Lach'lann.' she thought to herself. 'I am home.'

His fingers trailed the surface of the vase as it was twisted about beneath his grasp. His eyes a mixture of the colors of the pastels and paints used to decorate the piece of finery, darting between it and the other sights of the room. He set it down carefully upon the carved little end table, his gaze flicking over toward Avae'ess as the letter was passed along. A tipped ear twitched curiously as he listened, though the words soft seemed at the surface all but to escape him. He watched the exchange wordless, departing his position beside the table to move to the canopied bed that sat cornered in the room. His packs were heaved from burdened shoulders at the foot of the bed, his breath sighing out lightly. Carefully he stripped off some layering of his winter dressings, laying the thick coats and banded hides upon the bed in a neat, cared for pile. His sweat coated tunic was skinned from him, tossed to the floor as his hands ran along his sides, pressing into the small of his own back and twisting to each side to crack the vertebrae as he stretched. The tone of his body seemed more prominent, more well taken care of in recent times, and more muscled from the toils and works of the flight upon his form. A hand ran through messy hair, shaking it out along his features. He turned as the door shut, grinning boyishly to the elven woman as she looked to him admiringly. His smile was relaxed, at ease with himself and their peace. A tunic was fetched from his pack, clutched tight in his grasp as he stalked over toward Avae'ess, meeting her halfway between the door and the bed as they approached one another. His lips found hers softly in a fleeting kiss, interrupted only by the moment spared to pull on the lighter tunic over him, then reuniting once more with a tightened embrace to compliment.
"You've certainly promised a city of splendorous view, and such a promise has not fallen short of yet, Avae'ess." He spoke gently, his lips formed into a smile as they separated from hers with a hair's breadth.
She gazed up into his eyes, hugging her head briefly into his chest as she looked out over the streets of Dina from their window. "This place has forever been my true home, far more than Siafanar Sindora. I am glad we made it here without fault." Her lips creased slightly into a thoughtful frown.
"Something amiss, dear?" He asked gently, his fingers curling around the tip of her ear, followed back down to the lobe. His thumb rest along her jaw, tilting her head up to face him.
"Wha..no, everything is well. I simply thought that my messages would have arrived sooner for Lach'lann to greet us." Her tone seemed a touch hesitant, though a grin played into her features familiarly to follow.
His eyes searched her olive orbs for a moment, but he nodded and gave a reassured smile. "I am sure you two will meet in due time, aye? It would be unsuited for the captain of the guard not to green a Lady and her betrothed within short time."
Her head nodded softly as she rest it back against his chest, arms wrapping around his waist. His own engulfed her around her shoulders, his fingers running through her hair to scratch along her scalp comfortingly. He traces his eyes out upon the city beneath them, guiding her step close to him to keep her hugged into his form as they step near the window. Far below, the city illuminated in the dull blue glow that seemed to give an ethereal hue to the entire place. A peace surrounded the city, where not a single creature held contempt or anger among its boundaries. Spouts of magical blue wisps of light danced periodically through the air, twisting about one another and freeing themselves from the flurry to cast their lot elsewhere through the skies. The leaves drifted here and there from the canopy, swirling slowly toward the ground below before being picked up by the winter breeze. Snowfall was sparse through the treetops, though large piles would fall from the boughs and clatter against a rooftop, splattering the few whom walked the night streets.
A breath escaped his lungs as he moved to sit upon the bed, his arms pressing back behind him as they slid across the surface of it. One extended forward to the slender elf as she remained by the window side as if in a trance by the splendors of the city. Her eyes twinkled with the glowering of the pale blue lights as they died and danced in the skies. Her head turned to watch the window still as she tread slow toward him, her hand slipping into his and crawling into his lap to face him. His arms hugged her tightly and they laid back together upon the bed.
"Distraction plagues easily your thoughts, my love." He spoke in a soft whisper to her ear, kissing into the cusp of her neck as his fingers trailed along her back, scratching gently.
She blinked twice before turning her attention back to him. "My mind travels many roads, sweetheart. Yet this night they lead all to you. I am simply glad to be home in your arms."
"If that be true your thoughts, I wear my trust fond of your words." Came his recited response gently.
"Let such things fade. There is much ahead of us." Her tone coy, her voice just as soft as his as she laid a kiss in return and clung to him.
The shivers of fatigue in his body faded to her touch, the room taking upon a new life as they lie together, breathless in one another's arms. Hours pass before next the doors are approached.

Opening her eyes slowly, Daphne gazed about the room through her hazy vision influenced by the early morning mist that filled her lids. The crimson silk drapes surrounded their four post bed, the maple wood reflecting the sun's rays in their polished shine from the windows. Slowly she sighed. It had been months since she had reveried as well as she had this night, her mind no longer plagued by thoughts of those who wished to harm her, nor of those who wished to ruin her. Instead she turned her head, glancing toward Fenix and smiling as he rested soundly by her side. He looked at peace, his brows knitted slightly as he dreamt of the world beyond the norm.
"I hope you sleep well, my darling." she spoke softly, raising her hand to stroke his stubbled cheek fondly. "You deserve to rest soundly."
"Why are you not asleep also?" Fenix replied, whispering back with his rough morning voice. He slowly opened his right eye, gazing upon her as hi s lips curled upwards into a fond smile.
"I have rested all that I could. No more, no less." her thumb cupped his chin, feeling his rough whiskers upon its tip; like a bristled brush rubbing against her skin. She felt rather fond of his stubble. It was unusual, strange and yet strangely satisfying in every way. It was well known that her kin did not have hair upon their bodies and although his ears had a subtle point upon them, his beard reminded her of his human heritage. For weeks now she had been teaching him of his Elven heritage; of the Seldarine and even ettiquette at the dinner table. Slowly but surely, it was beginning to show. Fenix was changing, she could see that herself. He had begun to calm down, becoming more presentable and the man she wished to wed. Her proudness was evident in her eyes as she gazed upon him.
"Well then, come closer and love me then." he jested, wrapping his arm behind her curved back and pulling her in closer to his bare chest. Daphne pressed her lips to his, kissing his lovingly with her palm rested upon his cheek; her love for him evident in her passionate gesture.
"It is time to rise Lady Avae'ess." she heard a female voice say as they entered the bedroom. Fenix sighed releasing her from the embrace, smiling and rolling his eyes in amusement.
"Timing is everything it seems here in Dina." he whispered in jest. Daphne snickered, rolling to lay upon her back; her arms resting upon her chest. "Just please tell me this will not happen every morning."
"It shall not, I assure you." She replied before the curtains pulled open, revealing the Elven woman from beyond as she tied each drape back to the post of the bed. Her brown hair was pulled from her face into a tight bun, her clothing a simple green tunic and leggings.
"Oh!" the woman said starteled as she lay eyes on the half naked man in Daphne's bed. "I did not realise you had company." The corner of her lip curled into a playful smirk.
"Elaene, this is Fenix, my betrothed." Daphne said sitting up in the bed, her white night gown slipping off one of her shoulders as it sat lossely around her lithe body.
"Well met, Master Fenix." Elaene replied, curtseying formally and dipping her head. Fenix looked to the woman, dipping his head slightly before placing his hands behind his head and remaining laying in the warm bed. "I shall allow you both to ready yourselves. Breakfast shall be served in around twenty minutes."
"Of course. We shall be down soon." Daphne replied with a formal tone to her voice. The woman turned to leave, placing a letter down upon a small table and closing the thick wooden door as she exited the room.
"Now that we are alone..." Fenix began, running his hand up her forearm and gripping her bare shoulder gently; his tone suggestive.
"You truly think I shall allow you to only be twenty minutes with me?" Daphne questined flirtatiously, her lips curling as she turned to leave the bed.
"I can be faster if you wish it that way." he winked. She began chuckling lightly, shaking her head slightly as she reached for her silk dressing gown and slipping her arms through the sleeves; the belt of the robe tied into a bow upon her stomach.
"Well, I will be bathing now if you wish to join me." she said with a wink. Not a moment later, Fenix jumped from te bed, fighting off the blankets, running after her toward the door. She tugged the door open, squealing in excitement as she ran through the halls; her laughter echoing and filling the tower.

Arrays of noise filled the halls for the hour that followed them into the baths, happiness being among the most prominent sunken into their mixed tones. Upon departure, the two walked hand in hand back into their lodgings, grinning toward one another in a look of feral mischief, snickering at some unseen joke that existed only in their minds. A kiss was shared as they pressed the door open, entering the room in just their underclothing with their fingers entwined in the grasp of one another. As the door swung open, a silver haired elf presented himself in the middle of the room, turning suddenly to the sound of the opening doorway. He glanced to the elven woman as she entered first, his eyes lighting up with excitement as they looked upon her, her olive eyes fondly meeting his gaze with a mixture of surprise within them.
"Avae'ess!" He yelped excitedly as his attention was tunneled upon her. Several steps of his feet were thrown forward in his thoughtless state before he caught himself, barely registering the other man in the room. The silver haired elf looked first to the half naked man, then to their entwined fingers as they stood there. His confusion was evident for the briefest moment before his throat cleared and he straightened himself up with a bit of strain. "I uh...was not...I got your letter." He produced the same letter first given to the guard. "I had thought not to wait, but you seem...busy."
Her fingers in the same moment withdrew from Fenix's grasp, moving over her chest with surprise, and pressing to her lips. Her olive eyes lit up excitedly as she gazed upon the silver haired elf standing before them. "Lach'lann! I was not expecting you to come by us so soon!"
Fenix glanced between the two, a moment of understanding dawning slow upon him as time sank in. "Ah, so you are...Lach'lann." Fenix straightened himself, placing his hand over his heart as his body bent forward in a formal bow despite the informal dressing. The silver haired elf returned the gesture cordially despite the situation, looking to Avae'ess questioningly.
"Lach'lann this is Fenix Vale...my betrothed." She introduced Fenix as he bowed, her tone settled with pride as she watched him repeat all they practiced so carefully, and a bit of nerves that could not be placed.
"Betrothed..." He repeated the word delicately, though his expression turned flat as to not reveal much into his mind, his eyes painted with a lower fire however. He looked back to the half elven man, dipping his head. "Welcome to Dina, Fenix. It is...a pleasure...to meet the man whom brings our Lady of Joy her happiness. I hope all has been to your favor. Hopefully you will be a touch more inviting than the last company that Avae'ess brought with her." His words came very formally now, even a bit guarded though coy at the mention of the last man he met. Fenix's eyes snaked over the silver haired elf assessively, the prismatic changing of color returning to settle in deep. He gave the man a friendly smile, moving forward toward where their clothes lie strewn upon the floor as he gathered them up, handing a pile to Avae'ess.
"All has been rather exalting to speak little since our arrival, though we've been here hardly a day yet. Avae'ess spoke high of your home here, and it has done little in sight to dissuade such praises she gave." Fenix said as he pulled on his trousers. He looked between the two elves whom seemed to awkwardly catch and avoid eachother's gaze in the same motion. He bit his lip, scratching the back of his head as he helped Avae'ess dress herself.
"Aye," she spoke up immediately, "I have not gotten to show him a great deal of the city yet. We have been recuperating our fatigues from departure."
"Perhaps you might offer such an opportunity, aye?" Fenix interjected toward Lach'lann with a friendly tone.
The silver haired elf stood stoic for a moment, but allowed himself a polite smile. "Such would be only suited to the guest of our Lady of Joy. When you are both ready, you might meet me in the hall, yes?" He turned and excused himself through the door without waiting for much of an answer, the letter clutched in his hand being tucked carefully back into his armor.
Fenix looked to Avae'ess, her gaze cast distractedly toward the door, then back up to Fenix. "I'm sorry, I did not realize he would come to meet us so soon..." she said apologetically.
He shook his head toward her, his hands resting one upon her shoulder and the other along her cheek. "You've nothing to speak for. Let not your mind consider all these troubles paths. For the moment, you are home and with your love. Let this be your fire, aye? You've a world to show me still." His words were a bit cocky, a grin painted on his lips. His eyes danced a flickering orange and red coloring, like a burning fire.
Her expression softened in his grip, her lips curling upward with her familiar smirk. She nodded, her short hair flailing within her features. He snickered as he brushed it along behind her ear, his lips pressing to her forehead. His hand slid down into hers, their fingers entwining once again. "Come, the world awaits." Her voice energetic as she takes the lead toward the door.

The trio stepped with care downt he passive streets of Dina. The City of Silence truly grew to its name in the evenings, the only sounds being the echo of boots upon the ground beneatht he travelers, the rustle of wind blown leaves, and the soft voice of Lach'lann as he guided the lovers in their tour through Dina's expanse. Daphne and Fenix walk some steps behind clasped hand in hand, trailing in tow to the silver haired elf's guidance.
A look of wonder filled the faceless man's evercahnging eyes. The pale blue mage lights gave dim luminescence to his lithe, sharp features as his head turned about to gaze at their surroundings. In his mind, to say Dina was extravagant was underplayed by his own tongue. As Lach'lann spoke, Fenix would look back upon him for but a moment before looking off to some new fascination. Be it the hollowed trunks that concealed homes wtihin, the dancing fey that occasionally struck a presence in the skies, or the mosh posh of elves and others that filled the various common areas, his attention always seemed fixated upon something new. Daphne grinned wide as she looked upon her bethrothed's wonderment. She snickered at his excitement as he pointed out some new subtle sight. She kept her hand held tightly in his, hugged to his left arm as she kept step with him.
As the tour of Dina neared the fountains and stautes at the heart, the group found some pause.
"We're going to take a moment here to let our boots cool. A pace like this and we will be burning the wood." Lach'lann said with a crude attempt at humor.
Fenix nodded, looking toward Daphne as Lach'lann excused himself to speak with some of the nearby guards. her gaze was distant and filled with concern as she watched after him. Fenix touched a hand to her cheek, slipping his other form her hold. She blinked as her smile renewed, gazing up to him.
"I'd like to explore the promenade a moment while we rest. perhaps get a feel for those whom linger, hm? I'll be but a few moments." came his soft voice near her ear. He kissed her cheek as he roamed toward the stone formations nearby.
Daphne looked between he and Lach'lann, her feet rooted in place as if weighted by concrete. Her breaths paused as she took a moment to settle her racing heart. She walked toward Lach'lann. Her ears seemed deaf to the exchange between he and the guards that excused themselves at her arrived. Her hand lifted to rest upon Lach'lann's shoulder with a gentle touch, the siler haired elf's gaze turning to look on her with both adoration and pain.
"Lady Avae'ess." he spoke formally, his tone guarded.
She swallowed the lump in her throat. "I...had hoped you might have gotten my letter sooner. IU hoped to speak with you on this all, but not under the pretenses such as what we are now in." came her tone of wounded courage.
"We have our breaths now. Your betrothed seems to be intoxicated by the scenery, I believe." he made an attempt for a grin as he spoke, his eyes betraying mixed thoughts.
She glanced back to Fenix as he traced his fingers upon the bark of a worn oak, his eyes gazing up toward the canopies above. "We will, but not here, not like this. Perhaps our usual spot, tonight after the stars fill the sky?"
Lach'lann gave a solemn nod, though his expression seemd to lighten immediately. his eyes gleamed hopeful, if only faintly. He dipped his head to her. "As you wish. I await you as I always have, my Avae'ess."
With the end of the exchange, he excused himself to return to the promenade. She watched him as he stalked up to Fenix, explaining the histories and symbolism behind the various things in the promenade. Her hear threatened to burst from her chest as she slowly began to walk toward them.
"May the gods guide me well this night. It...is time." She whispered to herself. Her lips curled into a soft smile as she rejoined the conversing men, their hearty laugh musing the air between them.
