//WARNING! This thread contain a great deal of spoilers on the quests surrounding the Stonelands and Eveningstar. If you cant help to be a metagamer do not read any further. If you are true to your IC and OOC info and can handle OOC spoilers, this thread follows the effort of several players trying to make a difference in that region. It can be both informative and encouraging of others wanting to become involved in such a thing.

Seeking any and all enemies of Bane, to assault his fortress in the Stonelands and lay it to ruin.
We call upon the Triad, the Elves, the Wardens, the Dwarves, the Royal Corps, the Crown itself, or any other persons wanting the end of the Banites within Cormyrian lands.
We would seek to hire as many of the Ironsworn as we can, but we ask them to come in aid of their Regent. It is said that a Barony shall be given to whomever can displace the Banites. We offer this chance. Instead of building a new keep, to take hold of this one.
We will sack their fortresses, both in the north of the Stonelands and to the west of it.
We call upon all the righteous, upon all whom have sworn a sacred oath against this foe.
Our goal is: To free any captives To recover holy relics To destroy unholy relics To undo their presence in the Stonelands.
Seek out Master Henrik of The Triad for more information and guidance.
A date shall be set soon.
//any DMs (PM sent) wanting to participate, all we would need is the time that you're available. Otherwise this will just be a regular sacking of the keep. //any Banites who wish to defend their keep, you'll be informed of when this happens. Tho this is technically a surprise attack, it would be much more fun to have you in the fight.

Ahmed... very much aged and weakened without his divine favor from Typhon, would spot the notice with curiosity. Slowly, he make his way over to it... his golden cane tapping loudly upon the wet cobblestone with each step. Ahmed, never having smiled before... would do so now, the expression twitching at the corners of his mouth. He would speak under his breath in Mulhorandi. "How favorable this is. The fall of the Banites will be most... amenable, to my.... efforts."
The rain would come down once more in a misty drizzle. Ahmed raises his one-gloved hand to his indentured servant, who in turn would bring the gold and black carriage near his person... the clip-clop of hooves echoing in the near-empty street. Boarding slowly, the carriage door would close without a sound, and they would make way to Marsember.

Velisario comes across the posting and shows it to a squire travelling alongside him.
"Looks like Henrik is plotting a military offensive."
He'd laugh lightly at the thought, fold the note, then continue passing through the streets of Suzail until he arrives at the Temple of the Defenders.

In a different place, Henrik - accompanied by a Triadic Squire - looks the note over and frowns.
"I do wish people would let me know before they put my name on things. This makes me look like a general..." He sighs.
The squire frowns "Do people do that a lot, sir?"
"Not all the time. This is somewhat confusing, the originator of this message has not left his own name on it. He's planning a military attack and the only name on it is mine...a pacifist...those who know me know I don't take part in combat, my vow excludes me. I'm happy to act as an adviser and guide or healer, as I've been to the area he wants to assault" The healer seems mildly annoyed as he leans over to make an amendment to the poster. "..but I should get back to the Keep and discuss it with the Order and my church before they think I've ended my vow of peace."
He is heard grumbling softly as they leave.
The amendment reads:
"Henrik is available to speak to for information purposes, guidance and healing but not combat details, for those, Henrik will pass on any messages to the creator of this call for aid."

A tall man with a hat that moves around as if watching those around him, bends down reading the message then shakes his head as the hat's feather dust something off his shoulders.
"So this is how they do recruiting." Amen'dril shakes his head as he leans up. "Well if the banites are anything like they use to be, this is asking to be killed in making a example, or just some ploy to gather them all together to make one key strike on those that would assault them. Subtly is lost so often here."

Please only bother Master Henrik for information. He is not leading nor planning this assault. He was the only one named because of the trust laid upon him. He is our spiritual compass.
Apologies to The Triad.

"I see they've brought the thought of not wasteing the key and brining more help into bringing an army."
"Interesting lack for subtlety. They are asking for trouble and retaliation. I'd be surprised if the Zhents won't find out about this."
"The Zhents aren't the only thing that stands between a person and a Barony. And if they were to get it, I wonder who from the army will be the baron."

The effort is underway. To those whom have pledged themselves to this cause, we will run incursions into the Stonelands. There are several targets to be hit. We will do so in a weekly basis until our final plans of invasion are set.
Our leader is within The Triad, seek him out, and that is where we will meet, the Keep northeast of Eveningstar, The Temple of The Defenders.
If the rumors of The Crown offering barony of the Stonelands to whomever conquers it is true, we would seek such a person. But one of wealth enough to raise an army, to maintain control of the region. Make yourself known and it is likely we will see you to your throne.
We do not care if our foes read this message and know that we are coming. Let them show themselves. Better than hunting a cowardly shadow.
May the light shine onto darkness.
EDIT: //we will try to accommodate everyone. ill start by recommending friday Sunday Saturday at 1 pm eastern US time. the consensus for the most players available will be used.

//Please look at the previous post for the current EDIT time for our campaign into the stonelands.
Our goals are to determine and map any fortresses, camps, caves or any other inhabitable places. And to then sack them, with no intention of having a force to hold onto them.
//If you plan your own incursions please feel free to document them here in any form you wish. It adds to our rp and effort to further this plotline.

As the week nears its end, the Bells of the Temple of the Defenders call Suzail’s faithful to mass. Joining with them is a voice not heard in a long time, otherworldly music sung in words not of this realm carried far further than their volume would indicate, emanating from the frail, radiant white frame of Unproven Tasha, standing atop the Temple’s tower.
The tiny Bard-Priestess spends most of the proceedings accompanying the choir, but eventually steps forward as a guest speaker to address the faithful. Her voice carried clear and firm by her magic through the halls, and probably quite a bit past the Temple itself, she dons a soft smile and begins to speak.
“The Foolish.”
Leaning onto her staff, she lets an amused gaze wander across the audience briefly before continuing.
“It is one of the names mortals have come to call our lord Torm. It’s not a flattering one, but for many, the distinction between courage and folly is a very thin line, and not always do folk agree where it lies.”
Her smile fades slowly, replaced by a more somber and serious expression as she straightens her posture.
“In these days, there are voices in Cormyr who’d call us foolish. I speak, naturally, of the attack on the Zhentarim that has been proposed. There are those who believe we have given up a crucial element of surprise in revealing our intent, and I’d like to take a moment to respond to this concern among both our allies and brethren.
Of those believing we have committed folly, I ask of you, to consider this:
The goal is to drive them out of their fortress, once and for all.”
Underlining the statement with a firm shake of her tiny fist, she continues.
“It is not to smuggle a small group of adventurers inside to sow chaos, to disrupt their operation and retreat – it is to march on their hold and take it from them.
Such an effort requires manpower, it requires a multitude of diverse factions and individuals to work together. Not only must foes be vanquished, no – Weapons must be built. Walls must be breached. Territory must be held. Such an effort requires people, people who know of what will happen, and if a large number of people knows something, then we must remember one thing:”
She pauses for a moment, looking over those gathered in the Temple.
“The Zhentarim are not the psychotic man-children with delusions of grandeur we see strut around in the Black Hand’s colours among adventurers.
They are the Black Network.
They know to be subtle. They infiltrate. Analyze. And they have been here, lurking just past Cormyr’s reach, for many years. If in these lands, one plans any major undertaking that many people must know of ahead of time, the Black Network will hear of it. “
She taps the floor with the bottom of her staff once, and slowly shakes her head as she moves on.
“To believe one can mount a large scale attack involving multiple factions and faiths, countless adventurers, warriors, soldiers, all in these lands who’d take the fight to the Dark One’s servants without the Black Network learning of it? “
The staff taps the floor once more.
“That is folly.
To mount an attack, deluding oneself into thinking one kept the very fact it is going to happen secret?”
Tap!
“That is asking to be butchered by the Zhentarim.”
Pausing a moment to let her words sink in, her expression mellows, a small smile gracing her face once more.
“I hear calls for more subtlety, and there is wisdom in them – what can be kept secret about the assault should be. Battle plans, troop strengths – these are things that, for a long time, can and should be kept secret among a close circle of leaders.”
The smile vanishes with another shake of her head.
“But that an attack like this shall happen? That is not one of these things. A crusade cannot be called for with a whisper if it is to succeed.”
Her words come almost a whisper, but the bard’s craft carries them over the crowd none the less.
“The line between courage and folly is very, very thin.
It has always been, and it always shall be. But.“
She picks up volume again, her voice growing more and more strong and confident with each word, her slender hand underlining all she says firmly and determinedly.
“If we lose our ability to judge which risks are unavoidable, which are worth taking and which are not - that is where the Tyrant’s power lies, in doubt and hesitation that are born not of wisdom…
… but of fear.
If we let that fear cripple us, let it stop us from joining together, from uniting against the forces that threaten this land, then the Black Hand has done its job all too well!
So I call upon you, fellow faithful:
Let not uncertainty grow among allies. Let not spread the Black Hand’s grasp of fear. Let them know a Call to Arms is what is needed. Let those we want by our side against the tides of darkness know which side of the line we are on.”

//this report is submitted to the Triadic Order. It may or may not have been transfered to the authorities. It may or may not have been copied or stolen. Field Report: First Incursion into The Stonelands I travelled with two companions, and elf and a human mage. I'll try to keep their names safe in case of retaliation. Our goal was to investigate to the west of the Zhentarim Keep, to find any other strongholds, caves or dwellings. Before we could find the western pass through the mountains, we encountered well trained goblins bearing the mark of the Zhentarim, and two decent forts, one of which had a Zhentarim Knight amongst the goblins there. We broke thru and onto the western pass, where we encountered more well trained goblins. They are fierce and well disciplined but as a whole they pose little threat to our campaign. They seem to mainly guard the many paths, like watchmen or spies. They are not much of an army, and we could not find any cave, keep or other fort in the west that they could have called home. What we did find was a tower, a large and ominous tower. Whomever they are, they do not appear to be Zhentarim. None of us could make out any of their symbols or markings *described here*. But they are strong. They were hostile from the beginning. They sought our deaths outright. Their Knights gave us quite the fight, and tho victorious, we decided to return to town. Perhaps more about them can be learned, but this will have to wait until we can form a more formidable group. Ally or foe to the Zhentarim, at least we know that they hold sway of much of the western reaches. The next incursion will be to the east, one week from now, where there are reports of orcs. Once we can establish the perimeter of the Black Keep and know where their forces hold and where their allies are found we can then prepare a more focused plan on eliminating their strongholds and routing their forces, until the Keep sits all alone. With your blessings I will try and recruit mercenaries in case I fail to bring together a strong group. Yours in trust, Wurek Penchant *an eight pointed golden star within a black circle*

//report left for the Grandmaster at the Triadic Keep. may or may not be known by others Field Report: Incursion of the Eastern Stonelands There were seven of us, a strong group of varying skills. One could not ask for better company. What we encountered in the eastern reaches of the Stonelands may be our greatest obstacle. The orcs are fierce and well trained, I've never seen orcs like these. It is likely that they are servants of the Black Keep, tho this could not be completely verified. What is known is that they reside in a cave atop a mountain, not far away from the Zhentarim, and that this place is their concentration point for raids against the Triadic Keep and Cormyr by extension. We found sieges towers and ballistas, enough to pose a significant threat to any stronghold. I don't know if the orcs built them or if the Zhentarim are supplying them. That is a question for further review. We destroyed or sabotaged what we could find. Their leader and his guards were formidable enough to drive back the seven of us, tho we were able to regroup and take them out with a second charge. We sacked their treasury and were able to free at least one Purple Dragon that was being tortured. The other prisoners were found in pieces. It was savage and brutal and merciless. At one point in their cave we came across a strange light within what looked like a magic circle. We were told by our wisest that it was some kind of portal, a very well protected one that turned to stone any who dared get too close. I'd strongly advise immediate research on this alleged portal *Tashsa's description is noted here*, it may be crucial in taking the orcs out of the picture long enough, or even for good, in order to assault the Black Keep. The report on the land itself is rather bleak. Not much seems to grow there. I don't know how the Zhentarim do it, but it would be tough for anyone to maintain a Barony with no farmlands. There would need to be a secured path for caravans to supply the Keep with food, thru the winter gnoll territory and the ettin tribes as well. However, as it was pointed out by one of our companions, mining is a real possibility of wealth and trade. I'll try and seek out one of the master dwarves for their expertise in this area. Perhaps one could accompany us next time, possibly even finding both the certain type of food that would grow in that kind of environment and identifying the ore veins, so that a Barony may prosper. Our next targets will be dependent on the force we can muster. But I have intelligence of what truly lies on the western reaches, at that Shadow Tower. It is a greater threat than first reported, but it may be an avoidable one. This will be better left to a future discussion with you and your advisors. I will not make a move there until we meet. Yours in trust, Wurek Penchant *a golden eight pointed star within a black circle* //thanks to all who participated, hope you had fun and nothing went terribly wrong. this is a long campaign that will require multiple visits to the stonelands in order to establish good rp of our goals. we'll do it again next week.

Seeking druids, gnomes and dwarves that can assess the sustainability of a settlement in the Stonelands.
We need to know what kind of food will grow in that harsh land, as well as any potential mining that can fund such a settlement.
You can file a report with the Triadic Keep and we will provide you with a small fee of 500 gold.
You can accompany our next incursion into the Stonelands (//sat 1pm est) and see the land for yourself, and therefore give us a more substantive report. You will be paid one thousand five hundred gold. You will not be placed in any danger, we'll escort you to where you think you need to go.
Any questions or suggestions, please send them to Wurek at the care of Talbot's Inn.
As always we call upon those whom have sworn to the Penance of Duty or any who seek to sever The Black Hand in Cormyr
Yours in trust,
Wurek, son of Cormyr *a golden eight pointed star within a black circle*
*written below* EDIT!: We will welcome any surveyors with the skill to read what holds in these lands. not just one.

Leave it to the humans and elfish, to only consider crops what will grow upon the barren surface. The orcs and other buggers are fed from what grows below.
I will try to show up and join yer expedition. Offers of your protection are most welcome if not entirely needed. A survey for viable minerals is interesting and will perhaps postpone plans to strip mine the Hullack and King's Forest. There are enough elfish vagrants hanging around Bath Water Berg already. Spose it would be best not to add to the allready rampant homelessness of the elfish.

We are seeking any surveyors that can clarify the resources available in The Stonelands. Any and all, the more the better. Druids, gnomes, dwarves or anyone with the knowledge to answer our questions. We will pay the price posted and provide you with an escort. This is a priority in our mission to reclaim said lands.
EDIT: This will be a combat mission. We will need to clear specific portions of The Stonelands in order to inspect them. We are in much need of adventurers as we are of surveyours.
Please look within yourselves and find that our holy quest is worthy of your attention.
