I am seeking the permanent protection agaisnt any hostile action taken agaisnt the non-threatening lizardfolk in the Mistwoods Forest.
They are only driven into fighting when their territory, and their families, is invaded and threatened. They pose no threat to the Crown nor its citizens.
They do in fact provide a buffer zone, by occcupying a large portion of the swamp.
Please, send an envoy to them to discuss lasting peace between our peoples. Please, offer them a way to live in their lands in accordance with the laws of Cormyr.
I fear if this is not done soon their people will surely fall to the evils that surrounds them and the greed of the many adventurers who raid their peaceful village.
I call upon the Druids of these lands for aid, as they are seekers of the same path that these poor creatures follow, and are themselves an ally of nature.
I will personally attempt my best to protect them and I ask support from any others who feel the same way.
Write your name on this note if you support this effort.
Yours in trust,
Wurek, son of Cormyr

A dark clothed man reads the notice and mutters to himself in Mulhorandi, "Hmmmm sounds like prime slave stock. I best get the boys together and we can make some easy coin."

A certain squire to the RCMH is seen patroling the edges of the Lizardfolk lands as part of her regular walking patrols. THough it does not bring her there all the times, she is seen often enough. She does her best to try to make contact with the village elders to discuss them sending representative to the local government.

//this is also an ongoing RP thread// *The names of the people whom signed their support (//pcs and npcs) are taken down and added to a the main list. A new post is then added* *he places several items at the border of the village. these include weapons, mirrors, semi-precious stones, books, clothing and food. He leaves and goes back to his camp, hoping that with this peace offering they might send an envoy of their own* *Wurek does not return home to his farm near Valkur's Roar, but instead nestles in his borderland camp. when he is not there, he is attempting to add more names to his list by visiting different places and keeping up with his posts* //if anyone wishes an encounter, either friendly or unfriendly, post me a time and date and ill meet you, my schedule is flexible*

A tiny figure in startingly white robes reads through the original open letter in Valkur's Roar, a quiet harumpf escaping her throat. Rummaging for a quill, she quickly signs the petition, then jots down a few words onto a piece of paper and posts it next to the signatures.
A few hours later, she wanders by Greatgaunt and adds a similiar letter to the posting there.

be careful which monsters you humanize, so to speak. danger is a danger. I guess our druids can speak to them? Personally I think they're savage, though inteligent. and a possible threat.. a very strong one. I think they should be watched to see if they grow their numbers, or ally with anything. you could be right about their peaceful nature... one thing though.... they are very powerful... could be a deterent... or it could be a plan, simply, to take over more of the swamp.... they certainly seem to focus on war.

I hope you people realize that the lizardfolk you are defending have ties to the ones amongst the farsea. A portal connecting the territories of the two in fact. Did you also know that on several occasions the lizardfolk in the farsea have been found in the presence of infernal being's of abominable power. Before you jump up to protect some 'innocent' savages from the blades of adventurers maybe do some deeper digging into things. Spend your time more productively.

*More names are collected, and the posts are taken down, replaced with two notes as one. These are also sent to the leadership of Valkur's Roar, Shallybrook and Greatgaunt. I will personally attempt my best to protect them and I ask support from any others who feel the same way. Write your name on this note if you support this effort. Yours in trust, Wurek, son of Cormyr Innocence is not a matter of form. Even among the heavens walk beings whose appearance is more that of beast than man. While savage looking to our eyes, the lizardfolk are not servants of the dark gods, not cruel raiders and despoilers like orc and goblinkin, but children of the oft untamed beauty of our beloved forest kingdom. They breathe, eat, grow like we do. They suffer, mourn and die like we do. They know love for friends, family and clan, like every one of us. They know the pain of loss that too many Cormytes share. They know the fear of raiders, coming with blade and spell, making widows of wives and orphans of sons and daughters, that take away the work of a lifetime to add but a few coins dyed crimson to their pockets. To my fellow charter bearers - Let us not be those raiders. To all of us who love Cormyr and all it stands for - Let us not tolerate these raiders. We are better than that. Proud Cormyr has always stood as a staunch bastion of all that is fair and just among the lands of Faerun, a realm under the rule of law, an exemplar to other nations. It does not befit a realm as ours to exclude a people who have long called it home from the protection of the law simply because we deem them 'primitive', simply because they differ in appearance, nor does it befit us to make attempts to 'tame' them and change their ancient way of life. It is the duty of an enlightened kingdom to protect and nurture all innocent life within its borders. Let us support the notion of Master Wurek - Let Cormyr stand tall once more among the nations, a shining beacon of tolerance and peace. - Unproven Tasha of Torm, Devotee of St. Erathaol The crown tolerates the darkness of the Thayans, it also tolerates the abominations of Malar, so why does it turn a blind eye to the LIzardfolk? The assumption that they are no threat to the kingdom, is one given to anyone who crosses the border into Cormyr. You say they summon demons or fiends, but I have ventured into their village as the aggressor before and I'll tell you that if they had such allies they would certainly have called upon them, but alas, not a single one did I see. Do not judge them guilty by association to other tribes, no more than I would judge a friend to a Thayan guilty of the Thayan ways. They have never been given a chance to prove themselves, they have always sufferred at the hands of every single race of people that roams the Mistwoods. They have never been given a chance to be anything more than a monster. Give them a chance, at least a choice to live within Cormyr abiding by its laws, or as a monster in it's doorstep. I would trust a lizardfolk before i'd trust any Thayan, but I can see past the scales, I can see possibilities. I can not simply dismiss them so easily, we must be certain of who they realy are. *signed* Wurek

Kali walks by one of the notices and stops to read it.
"Hmm, I hope we don't have a similar problem as when they took out their rage on Valkur's Roar. The Guardians have supported the lizard people in the past."
Signs her name at the bottom of the list.

Celdur pulls his hood down down over his face, blocking out the sun sun as best he can. A gust of wind catches the side of his and pulls it down exposing his scarred face.
"Tymora's tits!" He cursed as the bright stung his scarred face only stopping his tirade of profanities when he noticed the pile of notices. He pulls out a quill and a vial of ink and adds his two coppers.
*This argument goes right at the heart of what makes us good or evil. What defines us. Some would only see them as a predator, or an evil species. Yet if you study what little we know about their god (or is it goddess? I have the hardest time telling among actual lizard folk let alone among what little I can find of their gods) he or she seems to be neither. I would side with those who wish to offer them a safe haven. I for one would not want to be in part responsible for pushing these creatures into being a vicious enemy when they can be an ally to Cormyr.*
