Omgosh,
I just had a good one for you guys XD..... Chell and Heather were fighting orogs by immersea. It was tough but we were truckin alone just fine. We came across our second wizard encounter. The wizards do some serious work. He cast a few spells and dealt some massive damage to both of us and Chell drops to -8.. Heather drops to around 50ish.
Here's were the poo hits the fan >_>
Heather runs around a corner, drinks a pot of invisible, doesn't waste time healing cus time is important, Chell is at -8 so I rush over and heal him with a kit.. . .
Chell jumps to his feet and because he's confused, he crits me in the face and drops me like a sack of potatoes..... Uuughhgh... And then the wizard toasts him and we're both dead.
But it gets worse guys! Check this out!
Chell rolled a natural -20-... of course... And he then confirmed the crit with less AB needed to land a hit vs my AC... why? Cus I was flat footed! lol... Omgosh ya.. I was flat footed cus I disengaged from combat via invisibility and then rolled horrible on my initiative so Chell got an attack against me flat footed...
Worse still!
Because I was invisible I had 50% concealment.. He passed that too.
Worse still!
He dropped me to -9 so he didn't even finish me by much and then I bleed out the rest of the way.
The RNG was stacked against me -hard- XD... Just have to laugh it off sometimes.

My favorite is when you turn invisible trying to keep from getting knocked into the negatives, but the monster hits you unconscious with an AoO as you drink the potion. But the potion takes effect. And now since you're invisible, your party's healing kits won't go off. -7 ... *clickety click click* "Come on, stupid kit!" -8 ... "clickety clickety click* -9 ... *true seeing potion* DUNNNnnnn ... *skull screen*

Not a death, but certainly a lame award that made me laugh a lot. I paid for a 1,000gp greater restoration from an NPC priest and forgot I was invisible... no spell cast.

How sad. Adam West, the actor who played Batman, died today. He was 88. I'm glad I posted that when I did, turned into a tribute.

My shoe laces got untied and I tumbled to my death. Was Dot around? For some inexplicable reason, when I think of who might tie someone's shoelaces together, she comes to mind.

Your party is teleported and upon arrival you happen to be the lucky one surrounded by the enemy.

Hadn't been in the Valkur's Roar North Crypts for a while (months?) so I took Dorn there. Had cleared most of it, and was in the Undervault. Surrounded by a bunch of Skeleton Warriors, but shouldn't have been a problem... with Mage Armor up they needed 20s to hit, so I was gleefully laying about with my hammer. Sure, they were rolling a lot of 20s, but it was manageable. So Mage Armor dropped, and they only needed 19s to hit now... and with their dice, they were hitting a lot more than 10% of the time. Hit points actually dropped below half, so I put up Defensive Stance... back to needing 20s to hit, plus I had extra hit points from the Constitution buff. But... this is THEIR dice, and the 20s keep coming. Watching my hit points closely, but can't do anything but attack in Defensive Stance. Getting nervous... down to 29 hp and one Skeleton Warrior left. He manages to hit me for 17 just before I take him out. Whew... 12 hp left. Then Defensive Stance drops and I lose the 26hp I had from the Con buff. Oops. Can someone check the monsters' dice? I think they're cheating.

Forgot about this thread and I thought someone else might post it by now.
Getting ready for the memorial dedication in Thrymgavin, we asked Delin to put traps around the portal in case we were interrupted by drow or any other unpleasantness. The whole list of guests are waiting at the inn for the right time to teleport to Thrymgavin. Gardrak ports the whole party.....right on to the epic traps all around. We lost half of the guests after three steps.

Not one person realized that teleporting would drop them right into the portal room! It was the only PVP she's ever been involved in and she was by far the victor. Four or five kills in five seconds- a truly pro move. (It also killed poor Bolverk when he showed up)

So far the only lame death I have is from when I first started on this server. I was in the welcome area overloaded by how many places I could teleport to. For some reason I couldn't figure out to follow arrows on the ground to the one portal with pillars of light on it, and instead followed another adventurer I saw there. I don't remember which town it was, but I had no business there. I ask her where I should go, and head off to Greatgaunt. I see ruins of a building on the side of the road and check it out. I die to a snake inside.

Not a death of my own, but a certain quest NPC I was trying to rescue from his orc capturers was killed by his torturer when I busted into the room, I thought it was hilarious.

Eishur and Chell are adventuring. They are in Old Elven Temple in King's forest. They reach the deadly trap part, where you have to walk across it...
E: Step on C Chell.
C: *Chell steps on C and dies*
E: Not that C...
C: *Chell gets raised* ... You told me to step on C! ...
E: Precision Chell... Step on the other C...
C: *Chell steps on the other C and lives....* Yay! ... *After some time....* Where to now?!
E: On T. Hm... Up. Yeah definitely up!
C: *Chell steps on the upper tile and dies*
E: I'm not good with cursive... That must have been J... It is definitely left!
C: *Chell gets raised again, sweats as he walks...*
Well somehow they manage! Even to conquer the dungeon, even though Chell got feared and Eishur ganked in the meantime...
So they reach the throne with goblets and cups.
E: Let me think... Pick up the golden goblet.
C: Are you sure!?
E: *nods*
C: *picks up the golden goblet* Message displays: *You have chosen poorly!* *gets teleported to cave exit.
Second later, same happens to Eishur....
C: You told me to pick up the golden goblet!
E: There were two...

No screenies unfortunately, but while Fax was out with Rona and Jara he failed a trap save on a chest. It was poison and it killed him dead so much he exploded. how we laughed!
That the teleportation failure that hit him for 98 hp of damage, causing another bodily explosion... Suffice to say I have since invested in Constitution gear!

"I'll just fire up my improved expertise... lovely."
Five or six rounds into the fight - Improved Expertise turns off by itself.
"Why thanks for that Splortchtastic one round double crit death, Mr Wererat!"

I was playing Abby with a group in that damned minitour maze when I had to suddenly log out due to an emergency. I came back later to see if a DM might be able to port me out of there. The moment I popped back in, a bunch of bees swarmed me, I swatted them all, walked around the corner and took a minitour axe to the face and died.
Long time ago, I was playing my little con artist, Jake Jarcy, and some guy I tried to mug was chasing me. I ran into a cave and start planting an epic fire trap, snickering about how he was going to explode when he ran across it. Suddenly a pack of wolves SPAWNED on my trap at the exact second I finished placing it and blew Jake into a million pieces.

I was doing fine luring water elementals to me, getting them to cast, then running away not touched by their special attack. Their poor assassin allies lol. Then I got caught in it for the first time and instantly rolled a 1 lol.

I took an alt through the Suzail gem golem cave, fought some dwarven miners or something that cause (Wounded?). I had to retreat but was able to kill the first one, but the last one we were both Near Death and crit me for 59hp. I almost had him!
Edit: Also received a "noob" remark from a DM in the Fugue Plane lol

Last evening, was going through the Orog cave... my character's Summoned Water Elemental drown a party member.
*Insert Spongebob Time Card "Later..."*
Using Elemental Swarm spell -
My character was fighting a group of orcs. She had backed away from the group, letting her pet and Summoned Air Elemental do melee while she was shooting arrows. One orc broke away from the main mob ("near death") and charge my character, entering into melee. At approximately the same time, the Air Elemental "died" and the Water Elemental appeared right next to my character, used drown attacked on the nearly dead orc... orc passed the Fort save. My character? Nope failed.
Fine times.
