This letter is written in a fastidious manner though there are several dark brown stains of what smells like chai tea.The same message is written in Common, Dwarven, Hinnish, and Gnomish. It is posted near the bar in the Golden Maiden Inn:
My name is Zedokcocklearawakmagilacuddy (Zedok for short!) Mindspanner and I am a Gnome of Lantan. Since setting staff here I have encountered dangers both common and uncommon and have understandably grown extremely concerned.I haven't met too many of what my father called "Earthkin" but the ones I have met have given me enough hope to write this letter.I admit that I am far from the bravest of people but even my meager courage has been put to the test nearly daily (no it isn't the tallfolk though it's related!) and I thought to myself "Zedok" I said "Why don't you see if you can rally some fellow proper-sized folk and try to encourage more mutual aid.Why that's not a bad idea!" And so I sat down to put this in writing to all who might feel like I do. Whether you're a fellow Child of Garl, a Son of Stone or a Daughter of Yondalla I am quite sure there are many ways we could help one another.
For my part, I am an illuuuuillusionist and a burgeoning engineer always learning learning learning! I can help with answering questions of the metaphysical and physical, pour some of the finest cups of tea this side of ehm, well anywhere really and if the danger is not to great offer my skills in an expedition.
An intricate and well-practiced but legible signature: Zedok Mindspanner

A small Gnomish lady dressed in earthy brown tones, a warm cloak and sporting a large pointed wizards hat shuffles over to the note along with a few jubilant hins. The gnomish lady adjusts her spectacles and reads it out loud for herself and the gathered hins. After finishing, she exclaims:
"Zedok Mindspanner? Ohh, my friend, Zedok! Mmm, what uncommon dangers could he be referring to, I wonder? The Overwizard, perhaps? He is ever watchful and he will surely thwart any attempt of us stout folk uniting, he wants us to be isolated and afraid. Our suffering sustains him, you see."
The gnome nods knowingly and the hins give her odd glances and mutter amongst each other, unsure of her meaning. The gnome fidgets and itches, adjusts her hat and looks thoughtful for a moment. Eventually she sighs sadly, her demeanor revealing hints of her drained spirit.
"Is this yet another trick, I wonder? It seems too good to me. Is it a trap? Designed to lure me in with promises of companionship? I wonder how long it'll be until I'm plunged back into darkness? Each time I try to reach out I am met with disappointments and sorrow. Each moment of sadness is another meal for the Overwizard."
The gnome spends the evening sitting at a table drinking mushroom wine and talking with the small group of hins. The next morning a second note appears beside the first.

Salutations to you, Zedok. I am sure you'll remember me, I am Maganda Tumbletush. We have met a few times before and adventured together. Like you, I am a wizardess though to be more specific I am an Illusionist just like you. I am also a herbalist and could be described as a Mycologist. Please forgive me for being cautious but I've been faced with a lot of.. negative forces as of late and I'm not sure I'm in a strong enough state to suffer further. If you truly want to gather together worthwhile folk then I shall endeavor to help out how ever I can. If you have some sinister motivation or are an agent of the Overwizard then I beg you to not contact me. I have suffered enough. If you really need to find me, I'm often either abouts Shallybrook or the tallfolk town of Greatgaunt.
*There is no signature, only a small drawing of an upturned toadstool balanced upon a round hill*

Periodically a diminutive figure in smoky-green and burnt-yellow robes will check with the innkeeper to see if any have left a reply to the notice.

*A reply is written in an educated, if somewhat messy, hand*
It is always a pleasure to meet with fellow gnome-kin, and I think we have met a few times before. I am happy to offer my aid to your endeavours, yes indeed.
Yours
