Cassily looks from Cat'ly back to the cairn.
"I tell you I not know. I no see what happen. I know hurt. I know upset. I no have answers."
She looks back at Cat'lyn, a deep saddness in her eyes.

Cat'lyn moves in and hugs Cassily, looking over her shoulder to the spot where Cassily had handed the note.
"Be careful of the friends you keep," she says, looking directly at that spot. "They may say they have your best interest at heart, but they don't. You know the only ones you can ever trust completely are the wolves in your pack. We are your real family. Remember that."
She releases and begins to step away.
"You know where to find me, I'll be waiting," she says. With that, she transforms into her lupine shape and bounds into the treeline and out of view.

Cassily watchs her bound away to the treeline. She turns and walks back to her bed. Transforming back into the wolf she howls.

Amidst the stormy nights of the kings forest, the trees rumble with the howls of the wind, overpowering the cries and the caws of the animals of the wood. Rain spatters against the cairn harshly, soaking into the dirt around it. A lantern dangles, and flashes of light peek about the crests of the trees. The lantern goes out, with a final burst of light flowing only briefly. Muttered words are spared in the nights terror. By the lights risen, the cairn is empty, the stones disheveled. The body seems to have been moved, a trench showing it were dragged briefly, before being lifted. Slight blood spatters the ground.

Coming to tend the cairn the next day, a white robed man looks over the damage and the fact the body is missing in complete disgust. He murmers softly about graverobbers and sadly clears up the mess, returning the cairn's rocks to the stream.

Once again she finds herself prowling the woodlands. Her head held proudly as she runs. Stopping where the cairn once held the body of her lover. The smooth rocks now gone but she knew the scent that remanded in the ground even after all this time. Joining in with the howls of the wolf beside her, her paw resting where his heart once laid. Just as he had risen from his grave she has risen from her pain. She would again roam the woodlands proudly. Claiming what she had lost as her own again. She paws at the ground, nudging a small gem in the hole. Carefully she covers it, and bows her head. Yes she would claim her pride, her strength, her pack, but most of all her heart.
Tossing her head back letting loose a long mournful howl. A final goodbye to the past and hello to a fresh new start. she bounds off on all four, her white fur shinning in the speckled light of the sun that breaks through the tree's.

A small wolverine watches the wolf from her concealment in the bushes downwind. As the wolf runs off, the wolverine bares her teeth. Is that a smile?
