so, I got some great news of late and thought... Hey self why not allow others to share the bright side of things in life for all of us as a community.
I have just been promoted to a supervisor of three locations within my company. I work for an Agricultural company that collects grain during the various harvest periods. I will be supervising a 25 mile area within the company. Life is great, and Kansas has been good to me since I moved here 4 years ago. I used to think there would be no place like home (Ohio), but I was wrong.
Anyone else out there got good news to share?

If I like learning C# enough (doing it for my internship at the moment) I might go find myself a copy of Visual Studio and get to work on that text game again.

Congrats bud, sounds like you're tr head man in charge. Look me up when you're ready to rule the world (ill do your taxes) also kudos on the thread, I feel like one to time the forums need something like this to clear the air of hostility and remind everyone that we are all people on the other side. @pedantryonc. That's pretty awesome! What other countries have you lived in? I've been American made but I think it would be great to spend some time in Iceland or Sweden/Scandinavia (yea I know they are two separate countries I just mean in the area) I would consider Europe but I just can't handle small spaces...not that I'm claudterhobic but to me small rooms mean small doors which leads to small doorways.....for some reason small doorways bother me. As for me , I got my full advisement for college and should be done next year. I have had a steady gf for about 6 months now, still playing in my band. And I've started hitting the gym regularly.

The doorways here in sweden seem pretty normal sized to me, actually the doorway into the apartment seems kinda extra large. Grats on the college advisement, it's nice to have that stuff settled and read to wrap up smoothly. Being in a band must be neat, I was in a band once. Concert band. I played flute! >_> lol.

Next summer is a super fun land of pure accounting! Strange though I always felt like I had a lot of personality for an accountant...to that I say *shrug* pay me. what about you hawk? Any good news recently?

Haha that's awesome though. I really like classical/orchestra style music. A lot of the timings are very complex, it's syncopation at it's finest. I have like a lvl 5 or 6 bard I've been playing and I thought about making him play the cow bell. But at least I don't speak I riddles like that one bard. So the doors are fairly sized hmmm? You may have a potential neighbor...it's not that I long to be out of America... Just Texas....it's crazy hot here all the time...I need some cooler climate. If go to Northern California but I own way to many guns to even want to think about it. I think if it were cooler I would be outside more though which means not as much nwn for me....I might make that trade I just have an issue having to turn sideways in my own home to get through anything. It's like tripping on things on the floor that can't be picked up lol

It's like tripping on things on the floor that can't be picked up lol If you're not interested in crazy temperatures Sweden might not be for you, the winters here are pretty mean from what I understand. What I'm finding most difficult to deal with here is the day/night cycle. Currently it's Summer and it is pretty much daylight until around 10pm, and then dusky until around 11:30. Dawn starts at about 2:30, with daylight hitting in full by 4. It's not really dark for very long at all. If you stay up late you can expect to be suffering if you have difficulty sleeping when natural light is glowing through the blinds. The winter is supposed to be the exact opposite of course, and winter lasts longer than summer. Which means a long time of very cold, very short days and very long much colder nights! A few days ago I got myself the Rosetta Stone program with Swedish though, so that's my good news. I'm starting to learn Swedish much faster than my previous attempts, as Hellwalker insists English is better and thus makes a poor teacher haha.

Ill live in Antartica in shorts. As far as the day/night cycle that might mess me up a little but black out curtains would do the trick just fine I think. I think if I were a superhero my power would be to sleep on command. That said if I nap for an hour during the day I can't sleep at all at night.

I have the disks for several languages, but haven't tried any yet because I'm not sure where to start out.

So far it seems to be working, though I'd give it another week before I can really tell if I'm retaining it. The system is pretty intuitive from my perspective. It doesn't translate things for you but rather makes you recognize words by putting them into context with images that sort of make you connect them on your own. I'm finding it so far working better for my knowledge retention than the previous method of word = word, which I often forget.

Ah, found it. I knew there was a good news thread around here somewhere. Any-who... my good news. Some of you may remember a couple of years back I posted a rather serious prognosis regarding my eyesight. Well, about a week ago, I had the second (of two) surgeries to remove cataracts. Now, they weren't a huge problem in and of themselves but the lead-up to those operations involved some in-depth re-examination (as I have an underlying eye condition and my surgeon is - to say the least - thorough). Annnnnd *is trying to supress near-explosive joy* the degradation which had been diagnosed hasn't progressed anywhere near as much as those first prognoses had predicted. The theory is that the new drug and treatment regimes I started on have slowed it to something of a crawl (yes, it's still going on, so it's not perfect). The only real downside is that the problem area is right smack in the centre of my retina (the left eye is the only one majorly affected at this juncture). Now, this is all good news for me as it means I get to hang around and bug you lot for quite some time to come. It is, on the other hand, bad news for you folks as it means I get to hang around and bug you lot for quite some time to come.

Found out a couple of weeks ago I'm going to be a father with twins! Edit: Just noticed the tutu picture. Well played, well played. Haha, that tutu wasn't you? I saw it and thought "is that how Joric is suppose to look like in a tutu? Wait, Joric is blonde..." Congratulations on the twins, man! That's great news.

It's easy to tell who has kids. Anyone that says congratulations to twins doesn't have kids. (Congrats and I'm sorry!)
