I picked up a copy of PC Gamer this weekend while on my way back to KC and I just want to say WOW!
They had a fairly revealing spread in the issue, and these are the first screenshots I have seen but it looks like the graphics engine is about double what NWN runs currently. The creatures look fantastic and the environments are lush.
Looks like we will be converting Cormyr as well... and I for one will be starting another project that the team is welcome to join.
It is pretty exciting and is scheduled for late spring next year.
Cheers!

my only concern is that my comp won't be powerful enough for the game when it's released... poor people like me have always had alot of trouble running the new games on our computers.

Unfortunately, I don't think they will make a Mac version. Or if they do it will be a long time coming. I would hate to have to buy a crappy PC to keep playing.

Yup - same here. Won't be able to play NWN2 for some time It still looks really awesome. With -or without- a mac. Maybe it's time you guys looked into a lower end PC that can still handle the love about to spew forth from NWN2... or maybe it will go Mac right as we conquer the major bugs. Either way, it is gonna be sweet!

Nice work! I looked forever for one to post... but they had all had cease and desist orders popped on them!
These are clearly scanned copies, and the real deal looks even better. Pretty exciting stuff!

The graphics look pretty darn good! I honestly expected a teeny bit more, but maybe that's because of all the new games and engines being released soon. Either way, the gameplay and amazing RP environment created by the DM's and Players in FRC make top-notch graphics unimortant. I can't wait until FRC makes the jump over to NWN2 .. but my only concern is whether to stay on this server or not. I know that many players will be, for lack of a better word, stuck here, and I don't want to leave them behind so I'm a bit torn here. I guess what I would like to know is...will the NWN2 FRC be a direct movement from this one to the new one? or will it be the same place, with a fresh new start, all new characters etc.? *hugs himself* I love my main char. so much I'd hate to get rid of him and it would be tough for someone like me to play 2 servers at once lol. Anyways, getting a little off topic in a way, and I'm sure you have your own plans for all this so I'll just have to tackle this when we get there!

Those are really great questions. I guess I am wondering is how many of Justicar's babies will be floating around after NWN2 comes out? I forsee 3 different children:
1) FRC that still exists on NWN 2) FRC that exists on NWN2 3) A new adventure that Justi has mentioned possibly creating.
So how many of these children will there be? And then the better question: how many does it take before Justi snaps?

And then the better question: how many does it take before Justi snaps? It's a trick question... Justi has already snapped! Actually, these are all good questions. I am still not sure if the NWN Cormyr will be portable to the extent it would need to be to make for a smooth transition. Also, I just have so many computers... currently four, but only 2 capable of handling NWN servers. The current FRC server will probably become the NWN2 server, and my personal computer would probably fill in for FRC as I am planning on getting a 64-bit for myself as a wedding present, hehe. FRC has been so much work that I would hate to see it die as NWN2 hits the shelves. I think people will be playng NWN for years to come, and I will (hopefully) be able to continue to support the module. I guess what I am saying is that I will take a "look-see" approach and just decide later what will work best for the community. One thing is certain. If FRC ports to NWN2 FRC it will have a brand new server vault... players can feel free to re-create their known and loved PC's, but everyone will have a fresh start. Cheers!

jargo at level 1??? *shivers* alright, i'll admit seeing jargo recreated with the much improved gaming engine and graphics will be totally awesome no matter his level... ;D regardless i think nwn1 will be played for years still. you all saw how long counterstrike perservered even though the graphics were bad compared to the newer multiplayer games. if people love the game and have the ability to play it online with (or against) human players, it'll never grow boring. oh, and those screenshots look totally awesome... even though they appear to have been copied and lost some quality i can still tell the graphics are much better than i'd imagined possible for such a big game...

yeah making a new server vault would be the best idea IMO (of course i would be crushed loosing the progress on my Main but in the end it would be better). New system, new things to explore etc. so it would be better to start off from scratch so that you see it in it's full glory and understand the system better And Justi, if you need help recreating the module, or a port of Cormyr, I offer my services to you. I'm not sure what I can do as I havn't done too much in the Toolset but hey! If you need an extra hand I'd love to pitch in! Just email me sometime

New server vault would prettymuch be required since some of the classes change substantially. (I love 3.5e rangers.)

Hmm...Sharita with a fresh start.... Cool....She won't try to learn that tumble skill this time Hmm....but her story on the boards will be off....maybe she will just quietly fade in to history Gah.....I'll miss her though.... Decisions, decisions... Looking forward to NWN 2 in any event! ;D

jargo at level 1...? nah... i'd sooner make another char (perhaps a remake of kruhl). in any event i'll probably end up becoming nostaligic and remaking him anyhow just to see what he'll look like.
