i want to be able to relate the date as given by the compass in the game to a calendar. This is not so I can perform human/oid sacrifices on the right days to appease soom bloodthirsty god, honest. can you recommend a calendar thats appropriate for FRC ? and a list of "sacred" days so i know when not to perform those sacrifices? and how does the info given in the game relate to the calendar ? it would be useful to know what the year in game is also? cheers sheepdog Well, who *isn't* your god? Maybe I can figure out what days are good days *not* to be making sacrifices.

I checked the Faerunian and Mulhorandi pantheons in Faiths and Pantheons. Neither lists a human deity that favours the bow. Valkur's favoured weapon is a cutlass. The closest match in-game would be a scimitar. From Wikipedia: An image of a cutlass: A CutlassA cutlass is a short thick cutting sword, or a gross sabre, with a straight or slightly curved blade sharpened on the cutting edge, and often with a solid basket-shaped guard.Best known as the sailor's weapon of choice, the naval side-arm, likely because it was also robust enough to hack through heavy ropes, canvas and wood. It is also short enough to use in relatively close quarters, such as during boarding actions, in the rigging, or below decks. Another advantage to the cutlass was its simplicity of use. The cutlass required less training than the rapier or court sword, and was more effective as an infantry weapon than the sabre. The cutlass is the sword most usually portrayed in films about pirates.

I have been trying to learn more about the Tuigan tribes of the Hordelands and got some information from Manshin... any recommeded online sources that provide detail?
At this point I really only know the basics and I am aware of the Tuigan's involvement in Cormyrian history but only at a high level.

Everbright is a property that can only be applied to metal armour. The armour gains acid resistance 5 and is immune to acid and rust attacks (such as a Rust Monster). Armours with the Everbright quality appear bright and shiny as polished silver. It's market price is +1. This information can be found on page 30 of Faiths and Pantheons.

THe Everbright used in this mod is mentioned in Volo's Guide to Cormyr (pg 140) in which Quiral uses the said magic to enchant his blades.

The material mithral in PnP reduces the armor check penalty of the object by 3. Does this also stack with the masterwork reduction in armor check penalty?
If I have masterwork mithral armor, is the armor check penalty reduced by 3 or 4?

If I have masterwork mithral armor, is the armor check penalty reduced by 3 or 4? According to DMG 3.5e page 284: So, by that, the masterwork attributes are already built into the fact that it's mithral, and the reduction is only 3 points.

What are the mundane and magical properties of a beljuril gem stone? Would one be able to enchant an item such as a ring or amulet with this stone? If the the above is possible, are there any specific abilities, and their reflective skills, and schools of magic that the stone would be limited to enchanting? D&D Index: Gem - Beljuril Gem Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (3.0), p. 300 - Beljuril Gem Magic of Faerûn (3.0), p. 175 I do not have either of the text to look for the information myself.

From p.175 of Magic of Faerun
Beljuril: Beljurils, also known as fireflashes, are large gems (typically 4 inches in diameter). Normally a deep, pleasant, sea water green, they periodically blaze with a sparkling, winking, flashing light. This discharge is pleasantly eye-catching in a candlelit great hall or a lantern-lit dancing grove, but in a dark chamber or the murky night, it is dazzling. A beljuril included in any wand with a spell that has the electricity descriptor increass the save DC against the wands effect by +2. If no saving throw applies or is allowed, it instead adds +2 to the effective caster level of the effect. Material Cost: 5,00 gp.
My little brother has my Campaign Setting so I can't post that at the moment, but I'm sure one of these other kind folks will be more than happy to. ;D

I have several Forgotten Realms Source books. Including the atlas. I have been looking for the location of Isnhold. I am sure you guys have it documented somewhere and I just missed it.
Can you tell me where in Cormyr Isnhold is?

Isinhold and redmist are both figments of the Creator's imaginations I believe.
If you want a general Idea. It would be by the southern most tip of the Storm Horns right across the border from Proskur near the Sign of the Silver Harp. At least on the map I have since Proskur is just down the road from that landmark.
Redmist would be East of Isinhold on the Lake of Dragons western shore near the river that enters the Lake south of the Storm Horns.
That help.. Hope so

This seems to be the right place to put this... Being rather unfamiliar with Forgotton Realms religions/deitys, and what with making a character here, I've got to ask... 1. What deities might a ranger/assassin worship? and 2. What deities might a ranger/assassin try to make others beleive they worship, if trying to hide their true colors? Thanks in advance for your help.

1. here are some potential dieties from the Faiths and Pantheons book of forgotten realms
Bane (Great god LE) god of hatred, tyranny and fear
Cyric (greater god CE) god of Murder, lies, intrigue, strife, deception, illusion
Gargauth (demi god LE) incharge of betrayal, cruelity, political corruption, powerbrokers
Malar (lesser god NE) incharge of hunters, stalking, bloodlust, evil lycanthropes
Mask (lesser god NE) incharge of thieves, thievery, shadows
Shar (greater goddess NE) dark, night, loss, forgetfulness, unrevealed secrects, caverns, dungeons, the underdark
Talona (lesser goddess CE) disease poison
2. As in who he is saying his god is, thats different. have know the character, who he is disquising himself as, and more.
Hope this helps and welcome to FRC.

Problem with your list there Kharn, those are fine dieties for an assassin, but we're talking a ranger/assassin. The only one on your list that would be acceptable would be Malar.
As for who the character can say they worship, Silvanus is a good one to go with. Silvanus has a true neutral alignment.
You may even be able to swing it that your character does follow Silvanus. He does have Neutral Evil followers. They'd be the sort that would see that nature survives no matter the cost. Local farmer cutting back too much of the forest? Cut down the farmer then.
But... I do hope your just not taking Ranger for the duel-wielding aspect and bonus's for certain enemies and are genuinely wanting to roleplay an evil ranger. ;D

A ranger can follow any god, does not have to be a nature or animal god. Doesn't have to be a nature god. And also a ranger does not have to choose a patron god till level 4. For example Scyllua Darkhope (castellan of the Zhentil keep) has 4 levels in ranger and follows Bane(before that Tyr). Artemis Entreri has 1 level in ranger, no idea who his patron diety is or if he even chose one(I would think perhaps mask) but I am sure his god is not Malar or a nature god.
All this I got from forgotten realms campaign setting book. My point is you do not have to be a follower of a nature god to be a ranger. A ranger can be a bounty hunter/assassian, protector of nature, a tracker, a scout, ect. They just know how to notice different things better then say a fighter in wild or how to hunt down a particalar creature or organization.

I believe it was mentioned that a Ranger that wishes to cast divine spells should worship a nature deity. I'm not sure if this is a source rule or not. As it is, NWN2 provides a list of nature deities for rangers (even evil ones) to follow.
Auril, Talos, Kossuth and a few others.

From Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting page 26
Faerunian rangers do not have to choose a patron deity until they reach 4th level and acquire divine spellcasting ability (without a patron diety, a ranger cannot cast spells). Many rangers choose a patron deity before then, but others start by devotion to the ranger's way of life instead of to one of the gods. RAgers and druids have similar preferences for deities, although some rangers with odd interests (such as hunting undead) choose different patrons.

Cyric (greater god CE) god of Murder, lies, intrigue, strife, deception, illusion Chalk white psycopath >.> *shakes fist* <.< I wish Bhaal was still alive, I really do...and Myrkul...but times have changed...*sigh* *mumbles* Bhaal did a better job with his portfolio than this worm Cyric >.> And on the topic, I know mabey since the Dead god Moander (Currently has the possibility of being brough back) did have many...how you say sadistic rangers and druids in the clergy, the PrC of Assassin probly would not have been uncommon. On a more frightning note due to the recent large amounts od sadistic elves joining the cult of Moander, Lolth the spider queen unknown to Moanders cult has been giving this deities clerics devine backing. If more proof of this is needed i'll hunt down links ^_^

Do elves ever sleep, or are they merely immune to the effects of sleep causing spells?
