The local townsfolk of Dhedluk find it curious that leaves are starting to fall off some trees a little sooner than normal. The weather doesn't seem any colder and Espar and Waymoot have not observed anything unusual.

The housewives of Dhedluk are struggling to keep mold and mildew out of their homes. When they take a break they will complain about Cormyr's weather to anyone who will listen. If their husbands mention that it isn't raining any more than usual they are answered with icy cold glares. The wise husbands offer to help clean around the house.
On another note, mushrooms seem to be thriving on the dead wood scattered around town.

Garum passed through Dhedluk, on his way home from a trip to the Espar swordsmith. He sneezed as he entered Dhedluk - he always sneezed around fungus - and curses vehemently.
"Godsdammit," he bickered, "I hate the changing of the seasons." He kicked over a mushroom-laden log, his steel shod boot smashing the rotting wood, and stormed off Eastward, Immersea bound, to his waiting dragon.

Hearing about the decay in Dhedluk from a priestess of Mielikki, Elvalith accompanies the cleric to Dhedluk to study and observe the forest there and take samples of the fungi. They also stop to pray to Mielikki for the health of the forest.

*Morrow Wolf is seen having an argument with the locals*
"Yesyes, I understand, but you must be aware that you live in the middle of a very large and old forest. It's not merely the seasons that give change, but distant winds and rivers and other things. It seems to be that the fungus is growing at a rapid rate, but this is no cause for immediate alarm. I will check the health of the trees, and see if this change is a natural balance of nature. But you could always consider moving away."
*he leaves the group of angry house wifes behind and moves deeper into the woods, searching for more pronounced signs*

A small woman wearing green and gray leathers adorned with stones of amber could be seen walking around Dhedluk quietly observing the town. The shadow of her hood masked her face and she appeared to walk around with a neutral expression to the situation going from tree to tree observing its health and condition, searching for signs of fungi.
She can be seen walking with a man in metal plates and a brown cloak. They both seem mildly annoyed and the woman seems generally unfriendly to all others and townsfolk avoiding them and listening only from a distance.
Te'ijal takes samples of fallen tree bark, soil samples and several vials full of sealed fungi and spores from around the town for later analysis. She heads out of Dhedluk towards Waymoot idly looking around the woods as she prepares to continue further studies in the morning.

Talk has turned to the topic of abuse in Dhedluk. An orc had been captured in the King's Forest and was being held in Dhedluk's garrison for questioning. The orc's body has since been removed and buried in an unmarked grave in the forest. Rumors spread about the guards torturing the prisoner. Many people scoff at the rumors and remark, "It was an orc. Who cares?" When questioned about it the guards admit that the orc died while in their custody but deny that they abused the orc excessively or had anything to do with his death.

Thanks to four brave adventurers the trouble in Dhedluk has abated somewhat. The four delved into the ruins below Dhedluk and discovered an ancient altar emanating evil. Father Corwin of Lathander and fellow priests are at work removing the evil taint from the altar and having it destroyed. A larger than normal number of Purple Dragons are on hand to offer them protection.
The townsfolk now know that is was oozes and slimes from the ruins that killed the orc, not the guards. One of the four adventurers was overhead talking about undead minotaurs. The townsfolk quickly dismissed such talk as the usual embellishing and exaggeration that adventurers do when they tell stories of their exploits.

A pale moon elf, one of the reported adventurers, stops by the Lathanderite shrine, to speak with Father Corwin and ask about the shrine that was discovered months ago.
"Father Corwin, has the taint from the dead god's shrine been completely eradicated? I know that there has been some... fiendish activity in this area and wondered whether any trouble has arisen that is related to what we found beneath the settlement? Has the rot completely cleared from this region?"
Regardless of what the priest might tell her, Oenemi would take the time to subtly check the area as she goes about her normal business afterwards... visiting the fletcher, getting bobbrie eggs, etc.
