To the Oversword,
I know the three dwarves and hooded figure, wanted for "crimes against Cormyr in connection with the loss of Redmist". At least I think I do. And if I am right, I am one of them.
I and my companions choose to remain anonymous. Ill-considered decisions are often made in times of instability, as Cormyr is experiencing now with Redmist, and we do not wish to suffer from such decisions. We respect and support the crown, but fear its reactions to the tide of insecurity that is rising.
That said, I can attest that I and my companions were traveling lawfully through Redmist. We were attacked by the forces of Thay as we left the north gate. Perhaps the Thayan warriors believed that we were a surprise attack, sent by the Crown. Such a conclusion is the mistake of Thay – we gave them no reason to believe us to be agents of the Crown, nor reason to think us hostile.
Perhaps my companions and I will come forward when the situation in Redmist has settled, and times are more calm. Until then, we will continue to act in a way that supports the Crown. We respectfully suggest that the Crown focus on important issues that will further its success, and not the persecution of its supporters based on nothing more than whispered rumors, and the words of Thayans.
