so lets say theres 2 items. one of them has: damage reduction: +1 soak 5 dmg
and the other one has: damage resistance: slashing 5/-
what is the difference between those 2, and do they stack?
the second question of all questions:
how long do turns last in real time on this server? i have heard they last 10 rounds, which is one minute. but then, how long does a spell last if its duration says a minute (example: bless weapon)?!

+1 soak 5 is damage reduction and 5/- slashing is damage resistance. They do stack with one another. The difference is damage reduction negates the amount of damage (in this case 5) from anything lower than the specified enhancement bonus (in this case is +1). This means that if I attack you with a +1 sword, you will take full damage, but if I attack you with a normal weapon, you will take 5 less. 5/- slashing means that you will ALWAYS negate 5 damage from a slashing weapon. So now you are wearing both, I attack you with a normal sword. You will negate 10 points of damage from my attack. So unless I have at least +3 str modifier, I cant ever damage you (or some other kind of bonus damage) . Now turns vs. minutes. 1 round = 6 secs Real time (always) 1 turn = 10 rounds (60 secs real time ALWAYS) Now when the spell description says hours or minutes, it isn't talking about real time, it is talking about game time. In FRC: 4 hours = 40 minutes Real Time 1 hour = 10 min Real time 1 min = 10 sec real time So if you have a spell that lasts for 1 hr/level and you are a level 12, it will last for 12 hours in game and 120 min real life time (or 2 hours). *thinks a moment* Is this right? Not about how spells work, but rather 1 hour equals 10 min? Cause this means that each FRC Day is actually only 4 hours RL time, which means that 6 FRC days is equal to 1 RL day.

Well from an unfortunate accident where Thrulia was imprisoned... I was sentenced to two weeks... and the DM said, just take a two day break from FRC. So yah I guess thatts pretty dead on to proportion of days...
