I would like to have a discussion on the many ways to make a good disguise, Vs a bad disguise. The point of the discussion should be more about how to do a good job at it than complaining about what is done wrong on occasion.
A disguise has one main goal, and that is to look as different from yourself as possible.
While Onisha was alive I really liked to use disguises. I found a lot of pleasure in discovering new ways to disguise her from others.
One trick I would use is wearing a helmet instead of a hood, then adding to that a new style of armor, say plate mail instead of cloth. Then I would design it to look unique, colors, style that sort of thing.
Also, I think you need to have points in bluff to really make a disguise master. When I allowed her to die, I think I had put over 25 points into bluff.
What do you all think are good ways to disguise one's self, since so many of us use disguises.

Disguise masks are good to use. Sure they've only got male heads, which is pretty annoying but I don't think it's totally unbelievable to just craft it into a hood and say it's a rather nice mask. You would roll bluff or whatever to show your skill at concealing the mask's form. Roll low and someone could tell it's a mask, hehe.
I've used armor and other things with Dusk before as well, but it helped that she had fighter levels and was able to use other weapons and things that some rogues don't have the chance to do.
Aside from that, anything monumentally different than what your character would wear is good. A black concealing robe is kinda a boring disguise at best though, and creates a lot of suspicion. The key is to be nonchalant to avoid bringing suspicion to one's self.
At least in my opinion...
