"Talona," Salina said mildly.
"That is correct," replied Priestess Zoha, calmly pacing behind Salina's chair. "Talona is Shar's most staunch ally. You are doing well with your studies. Now one last subject before we conclude today's lesson. Loyalty is paramount to our goddess."
"Of course," Salina said smugly.
"And of course that means no Sharran must ever take aid or assistance from another god or goddess."
"Right," Salina replied, a little less confidently.
"And obviously when someone takes the blessing of another god, that mark can be noticeable to other deities," Zoha continued.
"uh...yes," Salina replied, now feeling nervous.
"So why did you accept the blessing of Ilmater?," Zoha asked evenly.
"Excuse me?"
"Do not play innocent with me! Several months ago, you accepted a blessing from a priest of Ilmater, don't deny it."
Recollection came to Salina. "Oh my word, I was just indulging him. The man got me out of a sticky situation because he took pity on me. I got jumped in the Bramblewood by some ranger, a mage, and a snotty druid. The priest was with them. I was depleted of my spells at the time and looking for a place to camp."
"So why did this group 'jump you', as you say?," Zoha asked inquiringly.
"Because they saw the necroelemental I had summoned."
"Such sloppiness is not tolerated by this sect...."
"I know," Salina interrupted. "I am much more careful now. Anyway, they were going to slit my throat, but the priest pleaded mercy on my behalf, and took me to safety on the condition that I go to his church with him. It turned out that was just a ruse to the others so they would let me go. He knew I could not be converted in such a way. He simply escorted me to Valkur's Roar, where he released me, gave me some advice, and his blessing on behalf of his god. That is all it was," she concluded.
"Nevertheless, you accepted the blessing, which is a crime against Shar," Zoha stated. "You must make amends for this one infraction to prove your loyalty. And of course, any future infraction will result in your death."
Salina eyed Zoha nervously. "So what am I supposed to do, High Priestess?"
"Do I really have to spell this out for you? You must kill this priest. What is his name?"
"Lysus," Salina mumbled.
"What was that?"
"Lysus," she replied, more loudly.
"Kill this Lysus, then. If you do not, you will be expelled from the order, and we will take care of the matter ourselves. And it could get quite messy," Zoha smirked.
Salina gulped. "I understand, High Priestess."
Zoha waved her hand dismissively. "Very well then, you may leave my chamber."
